About Me

Hello! My name is Amanda Falkers and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing counseling services for the last 5 years. I have always been passionate to empower others and help them through life's journey. I graduated with my Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Viterbo University in 2015. Since this time I decided to go back to school to receive my Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. I have experience working with adults, families and couples and am certified in substance use and addiction treatment. I also have experience with holistic wellness, addictions, depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD and other mental health disorders, as well as integrating overall spiritual wellness into my overall practice.

I take an integrative approach to treatment focusing on building a trusting relationship first and foremost. An integrative approach is a blend of elements from different approaches and the tailoring of treatment according to each client's needs.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and spending time outdoors in the country. It is nice to warm up with s'mores next to a nice campfire, or in the cold Winter months cuddle up with a good book or watch a movie. I am passionate about wellness and self-care. Those who know me would describe me as having an approachable personality and compassion for others.

Amanda is always available, polite, and gives useful advice. It is easy to feel comfortable sharing personal stories and events with her. Overall, she allows channeling my mind in a clearer way. She is also very flexible and can accommodate my schedule. I appreciate the time she takes to research information that can help me as well as challenging gently some of my thoughts.

Amanda has been so incredible! She moved with me between many different goals and helped me work through each one with kindness and gentle nudges in the right direction. I feel a lot more confident and in a much better space than I was before. I'm so grateful for all of help in showing me how to use tools I previously had and gain new tools to keep me feeling happy and healthy.

Amanda is very smart and she takes the time to listen and understand what you are saying. She is careful not to jump to conclusions and really understand before giving feedback.

Since meeting Amanda she has helped me a LOT and I am in such a good head space. I believe keeping up sessions with Amanda is essential. I have recommended BetterHelp to at least 4 people and I’m extremely grateful to get this advice and support from Amanda! Thank you!

This is my first experience going to counseling and I feel very blessed to be matched with such a beautiful soul for a counselor- Ms. Amanda Falkers.
She's not judgemental, she's a great listener, she's very kind and compassionate. It’s obvious Ms. Amanda genuinely love what she does and I believe she was born for this (Not limiting or try to decrease her by no means, Just stating how great she is and how naturally she flows at it).
At every session I can genuinely feel her wanting the best for me and I can see her bringing out the best in me. Keep up the great job Ms. Amanda You’re so sweet.
