You have taken a courageous first step toward wellness. Thank you for reaching out!
From this moment on, you are not alone.
Please note: I provide therapy via live chat, phone, and video/tele. I check my messages on the platform and respond within 24 hours.
When first asked what population I most enjoyed working with, my response was, "EVERY population"! I have lived in many places and worked with a diverse group of individuals since 2002. Each person has enriched my life and broadened my view of the human experience.
I practice EMDR, as it is an evidence-based treatment that I've witnessed helping many trauma survivors.
Life has its challenges and how have we coped with it all? Since infancy, we ask for help in one way or another. I wager to say that seeking a human connection is innate. That is the essence of therapy. I firmly believe we all need each other. We are all in this together.
Therapy is rooted in having a comfortable, positive relationship. You and I will be partners. I promise to be that warm person who listens and never judges you. Our sessions are a safe place, always!
Some personal things...
I grew up in mid-Michigan, from birth to age 20. I lived in San Francisco during my early twenties. I spent many years in Phoenix and also on the Gulf side of Florida (Seminole). Now I am in the Old West, Wyoming!! II have lived here for over 10 years. I love being in touch with nature and have loved every place I have lived. I am newly remarried and have two amazingly perfect children, both diagnosed with autism; ages 14 and 15. Part our of family is an 80-pound rescue dog named Grizzy Bear, an English Mastiff called Zeus, and an elderly cat from the shelter named Barry Catalow. ❤
Now for more education and experience-based information...
I am a University of Michigan graduate; Psychology 1999. I earned my Masters in Clinical Social Work degree from the University of South Dakota; 2018.
I have provided counseling services since 2002. My experience started with working in a residential program for females, ages 10-65, who suffered from eating disorders. From there, I moved on to provide crisis services and suicide prevention for 7 years. I have designed behavior plans for children and teens with troublesome behaviors and worked hands on with the families and group home staff. I provided crisis services to those whom were sexually assaulted or victims of other violent crimes. I have facilitated group therapy, individual therapy, couples therapy, and done cognitive testing. I have worked with toddlers, the elderly, and all ages in between. I worked with active duty military individuals and Veterans for 9 years. Thank you for your service, brave ones.
I have over 3 years of experience working in an acute psychiatric hospital. I am experienced in working with individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, PTSD, and psychotic/delusional disorders. Though, I think diagnosis can be important, and even life-saving, in my role, I am more concerned about treating your symptoms and overall happiness than diagnosis.
My style is adapting to what my client needs. Among my styles are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, DBT principles, and good old-fashioned compassionate listening.
Other things to know:
I do NOT specialize in couples therapy or substance abuse
My specialty is trauma therapy via EMDR for those who meet criteria.
After 3 no-shows, I will ask you to find another therapist.- Thank you.
Let's get you feeling better!! I look forward to being a part of your journey!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Amanda Loessberg. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Amanda is a great listener and easy to work with and connect . She also has a treasure trove of helpful practical advise that gave me lots of motivation for solving my problems.
She is a really great listener and she willing to switch tactics if one is not working. She's also very nice and cool!
She is incredible!
Amanda is simply amazing!
Amanda is absolutely amazing, she’s so knowledgeable, and kind and supportive. She’s honestly everything I’ve been looking for in a therapist. I can’t wait to stay on this therapy train with her.
Thank you for your advice and patient listening ear Amanda.
Amanda is an incredibly committed and talented support. I have found her EMDR approach specifically to be groundbreaking for me personally. I have healed from lifelong challenges that have plagued me intensely through this powerful approach. Amanda leads and supports with grace, elegance and respect.
Best therapist I’ve ever had by far
Amanda has been incredible, she leads with kindness in her sessions and helps to overcome any challenge that life throws at you.
When I first joined Better Help my first few sessions I was so stressed and emotionally fragile that I cried for most of the time. Amanda was incredibly caring and within a couple of sessions I began to feel like myself again. As the year progressed and I faced more difficult situations, Amanda was always on hand to guide me through the challenges and help me develop the tools I needed so life could become more manageable again.
She has helped me rediscover myself and see that life can be wonderful. I really won the jackpot with Amanda as my therapist and would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone considering therapy! She helps make the world a less overwhelming space and allowed me to see life as more joyful experience.
I will forever be thankful to Amanda, for her kindness, patience and talent. She's helped me to understand myself and others in a way that I never thought was possible, and allowed me to overcome trauma that I had been holding on to for years. She is wonderful!
Amanda is amazing and has helped me so much since I started seeing her. She's kind, caring, empathetic, and so knowledgeable. She is by far the best mental health professional I have ever worked with. Outstanding!
Amanda is a deeply compassionate, angelically kind, overwhelmingly patient, unbelievably understanding, and wonderfully optimistic person. Her manner is utterly professional, and she has a wealth of knowledge spanning a remarkably wide berth, and always seems to be learning something new for the benefit of her clients.
She is polite, and friendly, and can see the good in a person even through layer after layer of their own darkness. Her ability to bring people into the light, to show them the beauty they don't see, and to introduce them to the love they don't recognise is second to none. Amanda is, frankly, a gift to this world, and society would benefit hugely from more people like her.
She is kind, visibly caring, and just wants me to be a better version of myself and sees that I can be.
Amanda is amazing.
She really knows how and when to give every kind of support.
She has really helped me improve my life.
Amanda is a kind, compassionate, insightful, and passionate therapist. While she has a large repertoire of techniques in her toolkit she strives to learn more and research new areas that are particular to her clients. I feel in safe hands with Amanda and look forward to our sessions where there are always aha moments and key takeaways. Thank you Amanda for all that you do!
My second live session with Amanda and her experience, plus professional approach shines through. I feel comfortable and I am taking tools and advice away from these sessions that I feel are very valuable.
Amanda is very warm and inviting. She helps you to feel comfortable and to explore new ways of thinking about things.
Amanda is a 11/10 human
Amanda i’d a great therapist and I couldn’t have been matched with anyone better!!!
Amanda is amazing. She is very soft and a real listener with a toolbox full of advices that will help you manage your day to day life. She helped me to open up and to see, recognize and analyze my own behavior. She is never judging me. It doesn’t matter what I did or said, she will always help. I really trust Amanda
Amanda is great! She helps me through my problems and regularly checks in on me to make sure I’m doing well when I haven’t seen her
Amanda is compassionate and incredibly supportive. I feel safe opening up to her as she is not judgmental and always kind and patient. I have only had one session so far but just from one talk with her fave me some very helpful strategies to deal with anxiety.
