About Me

Let me begin by applauding you for reaching out for support in a time that must be presenting a life challenge. This can be the most difficult step and I am here to help, listen , look at options and assist in seeking a more balanced quality of life.
I have been a licensed Professional counselor in the state of Texas for over 15 years and have experience in a private practice, in education and within a treatment network. I pride myself on my diversity and my ability to help people overcome life challenges to be the best they can be. I will do all I can to be responsive, understanding, and compassionate as we work together in successfully making it through this tough time in your life.
I practice client centered, reality therapy, brief, and solution-focused therapy. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower.

Amanda is genuine, kind, and insightful. I started seeing Amanda for counselling 1.5 years ago when I became physically disabled. She helped me through a dark and challenging time in my life which was riddled with intense physical and emotional pain. Amanda broke my social isolation, supported me, and reminded me how strong I was throughout it.

I am proud to say that I have made tremendous strides since I first started with BetterHelp. Today is a bit like my “therapy graduation day” and I feel like a phoenix emerging from the ashes of my trials and tribulations. This chapter of my journey would have been much more difficult without Amanda. I will be forever grateful for her and her help.

I started counselling a few months ago when I was going through a very difficult period of my life- my thoughts were invasive and negative, and I was lacking so much in self-confidence. Every week, Amanda patiently listens and helps me to re-think these thoughts and perspectives. I’m on my third month of counselling, and although I still have days that aren’t better than others, my shift in perspective has monumentally changed. I feel confident about who I am- what is in and beyond my control, and I am so much more at peace with how I see my relationships with my family and friends. When I speak to Amanda, I feel like I’m speaking to a friend that I’ve known for years who really cares deeply about me. I’m so grateful for her and that I am able to speak with her every week!!! (So much so that I recommended Better Help to one of my closest friends)

My first time counseling and couldn't have been better, Amanda is for far one of the most kind person I've spoken with. I would definitely recommend her and with not a single drop of doubt in my body I would go back counseling with her if I need it again, although she's given me some really good tools that I'm sure are gonna be useful to me for life.

Although it's only my 3rd week speaking to Amanda... I've never had anyone to talk to in this way. Amanda is warm, kind, and very non-judgemental. She approaches situations logically, and openly, making frequent check-ins with the client to ensure they are on a desired path.
