About me

Being a witness to another's growth and transformation is a beautiful privilege. My work with clients is guided by my belief in their own self-knowing. I partner with the client on their journey to better health.

The client's personal goals and identified challenges are my initial focus of treatment. Other points of focus include development in self-awareness, trauma awareness, nervous system awareness and regulation, and mindfulness-based strategies and skill building.
I am also a registered yoga instructor and can offer guidance on how to incorporate movement and breathwork into any self-care regimen. Treatment outcomes are enhanced when the body and mind are aligned.

I received my Master's degree in Counseling and Consultation in 1999 and was certified in school counseling. In 2014, I received a certificate of advanced study in Community Mental Health, and in 2018, I received my New York State license in Mental Health Counseling.

Over the past 22 years, I have worked with clients as young as 2 years of age, clients well into their 80's and all ages in between. I began my career working with at risk youth and their families. I spent 15 years serving as a mental health counselor for the Head Start center in my community. I worked with parents, children and often collaborated with other community agencies and local school districts. I have many years of experience assisting parents and families with the complex job of raising children and balancing career and family commitments.

I also worked at a small private practice for about 5 years. I offered individualized therapy sessions for young children, teenagers and adults.
I enjoy working with my clients and often find that it is through the building of a compassionate and trusting relationship that change and growth emerge.

I believe all humans can benefit from therapy. It is how we discover our truest selves.
