About me

Welcome to my therapy room, a warm, non-judgmental space where we’ll uncover your inner wisdom together.

As a therapist, I bring a person-centered, solution-focused approach, believing the answers you seek are already within you, waiting to be illuminated with a gentle flashlight. I tailor our work to your unique needs, listening deeply as an introvert and guiding you with straightforward care, diving into the heart of healing without lingering on small talk. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a Polish refugee from the 1980s, I’ve navigated trauma and resilience, which informs my empathic practice in my 40s.

Who I Work With:
Adults and couples, especially those navigating:
Immigration experiences (including 2nd generation)
Trauma
Chronic mental illness
Relationship issues
Adult autism
Any types of major life changes and transitions
Medical Issues
LGBTQ+ and Gender Identity Issues
Just about any mental health issue or stressor

How I Work — Therapeutic Toolbox:
I draw on a blend of evidence-based and creative practices;

Somatic Therapy (Eastern-inspired, body-based awareness)
CBT (challenging thought distortions)
ACT (“and” vs “or” thinking)
AEDP (uncovering emotions beneath anxiety)
Compassionate Inquiry (using personal stories to foster awareness)
Motivational Interviewing (aligning actions with values)
Shadow Work (exploring hidden patterns)
Poetry (especially meaningful for writers/poets)
Gottman Couples Assessment (only $39—a roadmap for deeper connection)

What to Expect:
Our sessions are collaborative and tailored—with a mix of playful honesty and grounded presence.

Outside of Therapy:
I love hiking, board games, reading, sipping tea, and cats.

Let’s create a space where you can bloom into your truest self—with a bit of poetic magic and grounded presence.

Amelia Jensen gets a full 5-star review! Amelia has been my therapist for more than 2 years, and she is by far the best therapist I have ever had. She is professional and attentive to my issues and concerns. I can comfortably talk with her about anything and never feel judged. She’s well-versed in any situation that I’ve presented, understanding and empathetic. The advice she’s given me has been spot-on the entire time. Better Help is fortunate to. have found her!

Just one of the ways Amelia has helped me: Find my happiness, I don’t know where it went, under here, over there, run over by this or that, but together she is helping me turn over the stones and move the blockades aside and bringing it back. She is amazing.
