About me

Hello, thank you for taking the time and to learn a bit more about me. I am a seasoned clinician with 15 years of experience in the field of mental health services. I finished graduate school, (2005), becoming dually licensed in 2009, (LADC), and 2011,(LCMHC), respectively. I've worked with individuals and families facing a variety challenges such as depression and anxiety, terminal illness, unemployment, trauma and abuse, addictions of all kinds, communication failure, loss in relationships, and parenting concerns.

My counseling style is interactive and playful. I love hearing your story. It is the favorite part of my work.

My experience has taught me that the most important predictor of your success, and maintaining it are two-fold. 1.) The connection you and I develop as the person you chose to support you. Do you feel accepted for who you are? And do you feel I understand you? As we unravel your challenges do you feel comforted, clarified, and incrementally challenged to grow? If the answer is yes, the cumulative nature of my positive support, our mutual observations, discussing, (and meeting bumps in the road), will allow incremental challenges to give you traction, expanding your self-esteem, generating your success. 2.) Keeping track of what's happened; beginning, middle and end.

You are welcome to message me anytime through Better Help. The frequency with which you can have access to a counselor to work through day to day emotions and problem solving is extremely beneficial for most and a nice change from traditional outpatient counseling. I usually check messages twice each day, seven days per week. I offer messaging, live chat and phone sessions with limited availability in the evenings and weekends. Please note that what you see in my calendar may not reflect my only availability so you always want to check that out with me through messaging first.

Amy has been very professional about her job from the very beginning.
Since we started our therapy sessions, everything has been very well structured, which is exactly what I needed, making it really easy find the best way to solve or aleviate anything I´ve been struggling with.
She´s also a very thoughtful, welcoming and kind person which makes it easy to connect with her.

Amy has helped me grow tremendously. She is easy to talk to, listens, and responds with specific feedback to whatever we discuss. She’s accommodating and works with my schedule, even though I’m 8 hours ahead. Sometimes I’ll have so much on my mind that I can’t even think straight, but after talking to her I feel more at ease. Amy is by far the best therapist I have ever had.

Amy is a very down to earth and straight forward person and therapist. I appreciate her direct approach as it gives me clarity and real time answers without long drawn out conversations because that is my preference. She has amazing insight during our time together and gives me feedback and things I can implement immediately and long-term.

Chatting with Amy is like conversing with an old friend. She's non-judgmental, supportive & offers reasonable solutions. I could not have made it through the pandemic without her! I'm so grateful!
