Amy Jones, BACP, NCPS
About me
Hi, I'm Amy and I specialise in person-centred or client lead counselling but work as an integrative therapist.
I work with ages 16 and above with all experiences and difficulties in life. I work at your pace, and walk with you offering empathy and understanding with what you bring to sessions. I provide an honest & confidential space that supports each client individually. I will strive to customise and adapt our counselling relationship and methods of practice to meet your individual and specific needs. It takes courage to seek counselling and to recognise that you want and deserve a more content and idyllic life.
This is the first steps towards change & if you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I hope you find a prosperous match in a counsellor or therapist, and if it is with myself, then I look forward to working with you!

How do I know if the counselling is working?
It’s hard to tell you exactly as you’re the best judge of this. Here are some of the changes noticed during counselling:
I feel less alone, anxious, depressed, sad, overwhelmed, frightened, angry, suicidal etc
I can deal better with my problems
I know my strengths
I feel like I understand and like myself better
I notice how hard I was on myself and where that came from
I now know my feelings were normal grief emotions and that I’m not alone
I know that there is light at the end of the tunnel
I know I can seek counselling again in the future, should I ever need it
There may be physical and practical changes too:
I sleep better
I have ways of calming myself down
I don’t argue with people so much
I cried with my counsellor, which is a first
I’m going out more with friends
I don’t self-harm anymore
I’m eating better
I’m writing a diary
I left or strengthened my relationship
I got a job

If you combine an incredible listener, a superb guide, and a fantastic mentor and add the traits of reliability, patience, trust and a respectful attitude -- you get an exceptionally rare therapist like Amy Jones.
I began my journey with Amy three months ago. I was stuck in a lonely place, spiralling emotionally, struggling with relationships and communication and shackled by my past. Amy is easy to talk to. I found comfort in confiding even the darkest events of my life and discovered a non-judgemental environment where I could be myself. Amy’s advice aided me in dealing with the complexities surrounding me. She helped me walk, nay sprint, out of my dark pace and embrace positivity, possibility and relationships.
Amy ensured each session became a step towards my progress, and these steps became a staircase that led to my light. I can’t thank Amy enough, and I highly recommend her.

Amy is very friendly and patient, she was just what I needed to help get me out of a rough patch. I feel so much better after a couple of months with her.
