About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois, and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) in the United States. I hold my Master's Degree in Counseling and Organizational Psychology (MAO), which allows me to work with people on both personal and professional areas of concern and opportunities for growth.

I have spent over 15 years working with individuals, families, couples, and groups as their counselor and coach. My professional journey has allowed me to provide services in a range of settings including community programs, home services, residential treatment facilities, and through an employee assistance program. I have supported people to overcome challenges relating to anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, anger management, parenting, elder care-giving, relationship and family concerns, grief and loss, work-life balance, conflict at work, career changes, and leadership development.

I recognize that people come to counseling for many different reasons, and my job is to meet you where you are and help you to get to where you want to be. I see myself as a partner and supporter in the counseling relationship. I offer ideas and points to consider, but you are ultimately the expert of your life and what you would like it to entail. I understand that talking with someone about challenges you are dealing with can be difficult. That's why it is important to know that those I work with have a safe environment to process through those challenging times and have an objective, neutral person there who is not judging them. I enjoy seeing all the success that can come from overcoming that fear, and making time to care for oneself. Whether you are working through a difficult time, or looking to grow to a new level of you, I am here to walk with you in your journey.

You have taken a wonderful first step in reaching out. Whatever brought you here, you can overcome. I look forward to working with you!

Amy is more than amazing! She has been there for me every step of the way. Anytime I need her, she responds quick and has gone above and beyond for me. When I am overwhelmed, Amy gives me a whole new way of looking at things and is able to help me process my emotions in a way that I wasn’t able to before. She really is the best.

Amy has been a great counselor. I know that a lot of people have gone through my situation. It’s nice to have someone to talk about God and prayer.

Amy is a phenomenal counselor. I have been working with her over the last 7 months or so, and I believe she has helped me alter my way of looking at people (and how I interact with them), the world and all the potential life has to offer if you are willing to stop and pay attention to the lessons it is trying to teach you. She is the most kind, attentive and accommodating person who never fails to be there for me and provide me ample time, a compelling alternative perspective, and a safe space to return to whenever I need it. She has such a warm and friendly personality and such a high level of insight that instantly made it easy for me to open up to her to work through and try to heal issues I have been having ranging from childhood traumas to navigating challenging relationships. I am truly grateful for getting to work with Amy at a time I needed it the most, and I believe she has helped me revitalize my outlook on life and my future.

Amy is truly amazing. She listens to everything I say and is able to offer an objective and helpful point of view. She constantly challenges me to get to the root of my responses and reactions and has given me many helpful tips and pieces of advice that I’ve implemented into my daily life. She checks in with me between live sessions, and always responds quickly and thoroughly. Her objective point of view offers me insight into other people’s potential motives and intentions, and I find that helpful when dealing with conflicts or disagreements. Amy listens to my perspective and explanations wholeheartedly and without judgment. She keeps me focused on my goals and celebrates all of my little victories with me. In only 3 weeks, Amy has shifted my perspective and given me a new positive outlook on my life and my future,
