Amy Mulrooney

About Me

I am a professional counselor licensed in Connecticut with over 14 years of experience. I have worked with individuals who have dealt with a wide range of concerns such as low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and problems with communication. I have also worked with individuals who have experienced trauma. I believe that building a therapeutic relationship based on trust and effective communication is key to successful treatment. I work with individuals to promote self-reflection to process their past and to define their present and future. I want to encourage growth within a healthy and safe environment.

I work with individuals using a variety of treatment approaches including cognitive-behavioral, client centered, and expressive therapies. It is important to meet each client where they are at and I will tailor this experience to fit your needs. I believe I am a good listener and I value the importance of taking time to get to know someone. I want to give individuals a place to be authentic without the fear of judgement.

I want you to have a positive experience in therapy as I know it is not always easy to take the first step. If you are ready to work towards a brighter future then I am here to help. I look forward to working with you.

Amy is always quick to respond. The online counseling is so convenient and I am getting so much out of it. It forces me to journal and I then refocus on the important things rather than the small obstacles I face daily. Amy is caring and Compassionate as well! - Liz

Extremely helpful. I’ve had social anxiety for a long time and Amy has walked me through many realizations about myself that are helping me finally address what is perhaps the most significant problem in my life in a healthy and helpful way.

Amy has been amazing during these trying times. I have been experiencing anxiety around work and Covid and she is helping me make changes in myself and my life to relieve this stress.

I haven’t been working with Amy very long yet, but she’s great! She knows how to handle different topics, she has a lot of experience and will not make you feel bad about what you’re going through. She’s amazing, I highly recommend Amy
