About Me

Hello! I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with 19 years of experience counseling individual teens and adults. I have trained and practiced extensively as a cognitive-behavioral therapist, and I also have a passion for mindfulness-based approaches for greater well-being. As a recovering worrier, fierce self-critic, and
people-pleaser, I find great peace and joy in Eastern and Western spiritual wisdom. This has helped to free me from thoughts and behaviors that weighed me down for many years. I enjoy sharing these perspectives/practices with others if they are interested.
In counseling, I encourage people to tune into/trust their intuition; practice more self-compassion; release themselves from the burden of certain beliefs, and find meaning and opportunity in challenging experiences. I offer a holistic and collaborative approach to counseling.
I have a passion and specialty in assisting people who are experiencing anxiety and those who wish to be more loving towards themselves.
I also enjoy helping individuals who are seeking deeper contentment or meaning in their lives - and those who are navigating life changes, such as serious illness, parenthood, and end-of-life for oneself or a loved one.
Most of my clinical experience has been counseling teens and adults in outpatient settings (group and private practice). I have also worked in intensive outpatient programs, providing cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness therapy to those experiencing depression and/or anxiety. In addition, I am trained in a dream interpretation model developed at the University of Maryland, for those interested in using their dreams to better understand and enhance their waking lives.
My personal interests include astrology, yoga, qi gong, singing, minimalism, travel, and walks in nature.
Thank you for viewing my site. It would be a joy to connect with and assist you!
