Hello! I am an Arizona-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with more than 20 years of experience counseling children, teens, and adults. I have trained and practiced extensively as a cognitive-behavioral therapist, and I also have a passion for mindfulness-based approaches for greater well-being. As a recovering worrier and formerly fierce self-critic, I find great peace and joy in Eastern and Western spiritual wisdom. This has helped to free me from thoughts and behaviors that weighed me down for many years. I also practice and share self-compassion and mindfulness approaches to better cope with emotions and to change distressing patterns of thought and behavior.
In counseling, I encourage people to tune into/trust their intuition; practice greater self-acceptance; release themselves from the burden of limiting beliefs; and find meaning and opportunity in challenging experiences. I offer a Spiritually-oriented, compassionate, and collaborative approach to counseling.
I have a passion and specialty in assisting adults who are experiencing anxiety and those who wish to be more loving/accepting of themselves. My work with children and teens is focused solely on treating anxiety issues (generalized anxiety, social anxiety, separation anxiety, school/test anxiety, and phobias) using fun, effective strategies/skills.
I also enjoy helping individuals who are seeking deeper contentment or meaning in their lives and those who are navigating life changes, including major illness and end-of-life issues.
Most of my clinical experience has been counseling children, teens, and adults in outpatient settings (group and private practice). I have also worked in intensive-outpatient programs, providing cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness therapy to those experiencing depression and/or anxiety. In addition, I am trained in a dream interpretation model developed at the University of Maryland, for those interested in using their dreams to better understand and enhance their waking lives.
My other professional/personal interests include walks in nature, meditation, astrology, Reiki, vegan baking, and travel. I lived in Southern California for two decades and relocated to Southern Arizona last year.
Thank you for viewing my site. It will be a joy to connect with you!

Amy is an amazing support. I had to switch therapists because I moved to another state and I was very scared for not finding someone. Little did I know that I was going to cross paths with Amy. She is an excellent listener, very kind and caring. I feel she truly cares about what I share with her and she takes the time to check in with me. She shares different approaches to the same issues I face which helps me see the situation through many different lenses and thus I can reach to a solution easier. I totally recommend her!
