About Me
Hello there! I am glad you are here and welcome to BetterHelp. My name is Andrea Carin, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Minnesota and have a wide range of experience with individual, family, and adolescent counseling. I became a therapist because I have always enjoyed working with people and felt the desire to be a helping influence that would make a positive difference in people’s lives. A supportive and trusting connection are the most important ingredients to the therapy relationship and I make them my priority. I believe in the power of seeing the positive possibilities in life, and am focused on identifying people’s strengths and seeing the greater potential in each individual. In my practice, I like to establish a “down to earth” approach along with instilling humor and warmth, which I feel allows for the most beneficial therapeutic connection.
I have a strengths-based, solutions-focused, approach that allows me to work well with any age range and a variety of challenges. My background as a therapist is comprehensive and driven by my founding belief that we inherently have the power to create the lives we want with more happiness, ease, and clarity. As part of my practice, I believe in the transformative power of appreciation, meditation, deep breathing techniques, yoga, visualization, and other life-affirming activities, such as spending time with animals and being in nature.
In my work with people, I have had extensive experience, both personally and professionally navigating ADHD, generalized anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions/changes. I’ve worked with clients for 18+ years to help them find whatever it is they are looking for in their life journeys and I consider it an honor to be a part of the process.

Andrea was a huge help to me getting better in a time where I had found a pretty unhealthy perspective and way of thinking in my life. She's kind, funny, and had plenty of good techniques to practice during the week that helped me get started down a better path. Highly recommend - thanks Andrea!
Andrea was great to work with! She was very understanding of what I was going through and helped give me a better perspective and mindset. I felt uncomfortable at first because I never really opened up to anyone about my problems, but I just felt that talking with Andrea I knew I could trust her and she made me feel a lot more comfortable.
Andrea helped me greatly through a tough transition in my life when I wasn’t feeling like myself. Her methods are soothing and gentle. I felt very comfortable and trusted her. I felt as though Andrea helped me reconnect with myself and allowed me to find ways to change my thinking. I took a lot away from the experience.
Andrea has been very good to work with. She keeps me in line and gives me things to work on. All in all a positive experience.
She listens and gives great advise and is a really good person for her job she cares about people.
Andrea is fabulous. She is a great listener but also offers a lot of insight. She also utilized helpful tools. I’d recommend her in a heartbeat.
