I am a professional counselor licensed in the State of Oklahoma with over 6 years of experience working as a psychotherapist, in outpatient settings; such as in office, homes, and schools. I view counseling as much more than a vocation-- but as a purpose and calling; and I also thoroughly enjoy the variety and challenge that navigating through Clients' situations can bring.
I have treated (and continue to work with) Clients of a wide--range of demographics; with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety/panic, self-esteem, relationship communication and intimacy issues, parenting problems, and career challenges. I have worked with many people who have struggled with issues in divorce, as well as emotional and/or narcissistic abuse. I have had experience in working in a domestic violence offenders’ group counseling setting, as well.
My counseling style is warm, accepting, and intuitive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, empathy, and compassion, as I work to emphasize my clients’ strengths and abilities. My approach combines a Person-Centered/ Motivational Interviewing; cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, existential, family systems, as applicable. I will tailor our sessions to your needs; as we can also work together to form a treatment plan to meet your unique and specific goals.
I further subscribe to the belief in the role of the therapist which is to 'draw out', or to motivate, to support, to encourage; to provide knowledge of psychotherapeutic tools, thought constructs, as well as ideas and resources, to augment a client's mental/ behavioral health/ relationship communication.
In beginning your process of change, empowerment, and self-love discovery today; I invite you; my future valued client--to walk alongside you; on any stage of your journey.
Looking Onward and Upward,
Angela Alderman, LPC
“The paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.”

Angela has been great to speak with and the conversations truly helped me during very difficult times.
Angela has been a wonderful counselor for me to work with. She actually helped me get a clearer perspective on some things I was dealing with during one of the worse moments of my life. And instead of the circumstances destroying and leaving me hopeless, I'm stronger and more clear minded. She's very sweet, compassionate, knowledgeable and is always full of resources to help me get better. She's also very responsive, open and finds ways to encourage me through out the week. If you're thinking about working with her, just do it. You'll be glad you do. She's a wonderful person to work with.
Angela is incredibly supportive! She helps you understand the things that are doing on around you to better understand why you are responding to them they way you are. Would recommend 100%
Angela is very kind and calming, and I appreciate her questions and listening ear.
Angela has helped me gain control of my stressors that have been causing me anxiety. She talks me though different strategies and helps me cope in different ways. She offers a lot of resources too!
Angela is one of the best therapists I’ve ever had. She actually takes the time to listen to you and provides thoughtful feedback. So many therapists tend to try to label you and fit you into a neat little box after a short session in which the therapist talks 80% of the time. You can’t truly understand a person this way. Thankfully Angela takes the time to try to get to know you.
She is amazing. She listens and helps me work threw my issues. She is very supportive I have nothing but good things to say.
I love this experience! It has helped me in many ways. I have started some new healthy habits and am quitting some that are not so good. I have already recommended BetterHelp to many friends!
