About me

I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor in the state of Georgia. I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and children both in individual and group settings. I also have experience working with couples and families. I have facilitated psycho-educational groups on anger management, healthy relationships, emotional intelligence, and effective communication. Some of the clinical issues I have the most experience with include depression, anxiety, and stress management. I have been able to assist individuals who are struggling in the areas of home/social life, work life, and in the educational arena. Additionally I have assisted individuals struggling with Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Borderline Personality Disorder.

A main focus in my treatment is establishing an effective therapeutic relationship with the individual first, in order to gain their trust so that they will feel comfortable with the mode of therapy and interventions utilized in treatment. Working collaboratively with individuals on their treatment goals is a priority throughout treatment. I encourage open communication regarding what therapeutic techniques and approaches work best for the individual so as to ensure the best therapeutic experience.

My counseling styles include the person-centered approaches to help individuals achieve their therapeutic goals. I believe that each person is capable of discovering their own "self-integrity" (Being true to yourself, your values, and your word... being true to who you are, what you say, and what you believe). My counseling approach focuses on the here and now, and as a therapist, I assist the individual in the process of finding their own answers. The goal is to help the individual find hope, decrease anxiety, and find greater "self integrity".

I also include in my counseling styles the use of brief solution-focused therapy because I believe that specific changes can occur in a brief time when that time in therapy is spent focused on a particular issue. Information is gathered on day one to learn what changes the individual wants to have occur. The origin of the problem is not of importance, but instead, we focus on defining the problem. In this future focused approach I help the individual to find the areas where they want change. Solution Focused Brief Therapy utilizes a therapeutic relationship to aid in brief alleviation of the problem the individual faces.

I look forward to helping you to use your internal resources, as you discover your own self integrity in the process of becoming comfortable with who you are..

Life gets messy. That's how it goes, and when it does, it is important to have the right tools to weather the storm.
Angela is a solution-focused counselor, and she has been instrumental in my journey back to better mental health.
She is kind, understanding, non-judgemental, and extremely good at her job. She can assess the situation, and work with me to find a solution that is achievable and productive.

She also provides me with other tools that are helpful for my obstacles, such as worksheets or reading exercises. She is always available and checks in on me, and I find myself looking forward to our time together.

She is patient, knowledgable, and completely committed to her patients.
She is someone I would always want in my corner.
