About me

It is often difficult to reach out and schedule an appointment for therapy and may be even more difficult to walk through the door for your first appointment. I feel that one of the most important things to develop in therapy is the relationship as this will assist you in developing trust and security within our work together. I strive to create a supportive, laid back, and non-judgmental space for you to work on the goals you would like to achieve. I use a variety of treatment approaches to assist you in moving through the treatment process. I encourage feedback from you on what you need in therapy as this is a team effort. It is important that I provide education, skills training, and appropriate therapeutic approach to help us to move through the therapeutic process. I am excited to learn about your life and for us to work together to create positive outcomes.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas. I received my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Missouri Western State University and my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I have been in the mental health field for 20 years and have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families within Community Mental Health Centers as well as in Individual and Family Therapy. I also have experience working in a large hospital system. I was inspired to go into the Social Work field by my middle school counselor as I watched her really listen to the kids I went to school with and help them to problem solve. I knew then that I wanted to go into the helping profession so I could help others in need and be the one who hears them, believes them, doesn’t judge them, and is an active partner with them in their progress with whatever therapeutic goals they would like to accomplish.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Angela Gray. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Angela is caring, empathic, a great listener, and gives great advice. She's been wonderful to work with and has, truthfully, changed my life. I feel stronger, more confident, and less troubled by the mindsets and patterns I was in before I met her. I was concerned I wouldn't find a counselor online who would get me. I lucked out with Angela. She knows I think she walks on water. I think the best thing I can say about her is that I feel less and less like I need my sessions the more I work with her. She's teaching me to properly care for myself. If I could hug her through the internet, I would.
