I have over twenty years of experience working with a variety of populations and in different settings. I earned my Bachelors Degree from Goshen College and my Masters in Social Work from Indiana University. My career has been incredibly diverse, working with a wide variety of ages, socioeconomic groups and issues. I worked with the Court system as a Custody Investigator/Mediator for families experiencing divorce, dealing with Incorrigibility and Truancy issues mainly via the school system, teaching financial responsibility classes, job coaching and dealing with Addictions as well as facilitating adoptions. I began working as a Medical Social Worker approximately five years ago and have gained experience dealing with Grief/Trauma related to death or significant negative events such as an accident or sexual assault, suicide, dealing with the ongoing issues that can arise for individuals and families with a newly diagnosed illness and those experiencing the debilitating effects of aging . Along the way I have helped many with issues of depression and anxiety, life transitions of all types, setting appropriate boundaries, eating disorders, sexual identity issues as and addictions.
I continue to wok as a Medical Social Worker and have a private counseling practice based in Elkhart, Indiana.
