About me

Choosing a counselor is an extremely important decision, trust and a good rapport is essential to success in the therapeutic relationship. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker my work is rooted in a client-centered approach and led by the desires of those whom I am working with. You can expect a a warm and respectful approach, professionalism, and affirmation of your values and desires. My overall approach to counseling is holistic and I am well versed in approaches which include cognitive-behavioral, Person Centered and mindfulness therapy.

I have happily worked in the mental/ behavioral health field for over 10 years in a variety of settings to include private practice, outpatient mental health clinics, and non profit organizations. I have developed the skill set and expertise in working with individuals ranging in age, diverse backgrounds and clinical needs such as depression, parent/child conflict, abuse/ neglect, relationship conflict, life adjustments and coaching. I also have specialized training in anxiety where I am a Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP).

I think it is important to have a safe space to communicate your needs, fears, desires for the future and using those things to foster change in a positive way. I believe in the power of the helping relationships to transform the way we feel, think and behave. Should you be ready, together we will explore and develop solutions in order for you to live your best life now. It would be an honor to work with you!

I've been in therapy with AJ for about a year now, and I can't thank her enough on the progress we've done!

She really puts you and your feelings at the center of all discussions, which really makes your realize a lot about yourself. AJ definitely made me understand myself better, helped me coop with difficult aspects of my life (relationships, family, career, control issues), and really gave me peace with what I cannot control.

Beyond any doubt, AJ is the right person to start your therapy journey!

Working with AJ has been such a positive and rewarding experience. No matter what types of situations and questions I brought up, she always had insightful, actionable feedback that helped me make actual changes in my life. Meeting with her was truly like having a conversation, and she is an excellent listener. She was able to help me reframe many of my thoughts and negative patterns into more positive, productive ideas that I know will continue to have an impact on my daily life well into the future. Couldn't recommend her more!
