About Me

Welcome! Choosing a counselor is an extremely important decision. Trust and a good rapport is essential to success in the therapeutic relationship. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) I've happily worked in the mental/ behavioral health field for over 10 years in a variety of settings to include private practice, outpatient mental health clinics, and non profit organizations. I have developed the skill set and expertise of working with individuals ranging in age, diverse demographics and clinical needs such as depression, anxiety, parent/child conflict, abuse/ neglect, relationship conflict just to name a few.

My experiences have enhanced my scope of practice where I have utilized motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Person Centered, strength base and solution focused treatment modalities while working with individuals. I also educate my clients on the importance of biofeedback techniques which is very helpful in developing the skills needed to focus and relax . With my experience I do understand that working in the behavior health field there is no cookie cutter approach to treatment, therefore we can adjust our sessions to best support your needs.

My desire in any therapeutic relationship is to help the individual on their identified challenges, assisting in recognizing challenging patters in order to nurture an environment for change. In the fast pace world and daily changes and challenges, I think it is important to have a safe space to communicate your needs, fears, desires for the future and using those things to foster change in a positive way. Together we will explore and develop solutions in order for you to live your best life. If my profile resonates with you please feel free to contact me and we can move through this world and process together.

I look forward to working with you!

AJ is very attentive to what you have to say and helped me come up with techniques that would help me deal with anxiety. This was my first time seriously speaking with a counselor and for years I wasn’t sure if I needed to talk to someone and put it off. However, I decided to try talking with a counselor through better help and I found out it was truly something that has made a difference in the way I think and the way I approach certain situations. AJ worked with me to come up with tools that I can utilize and go to when feeling anxious. When you finish working with her, you will still be able to practice using those tools she gave you. She makes it clear that you are in a safe space and makes you feel comfortable for whatever you need to talk about. Thank you so much AJ!
