About me

I began working in the field at a VA Hospital Indiana psychiatric unit at the age of 18. I was hired at the local mental health center and worked the next 40 years. I retired in from my job of 40 years in 2018 but have continued to do private practice. I have a passion to work with people who need therapy. I am excited to keep working in the field of counseling. My specialties include, trauma counseling, grief work, anxiety disorders, depression and LGBTQ issues. I specifically love to take Trauma cases and people who have anxiety disorders. Since the pandemic began, I have done Telehealth services from my home and in the private practice office. Better Help with its focus on telehealth is the perfect place for me to work. I enjoy being a therapist because I feel it was the path I was meant to follow and I believe I can help people to overcome their probIems. I always look forward to accepting new clients like you. I hope we can set up a session very soon.

Never really like talking about personal stuff going on but with Arthur I feel very comfortable about what I’ve been and going trough he’s very considerate and has help me get to understand what I’ve been dealing with

I can not recommend better help and my therapist Arthur Hastimgs is great. I feel safe to talk about the things I am honestly dealing with and he is not only a great listener he has great advice as well. I know that he looks over the worksheets I complete and guides me through so I am better able to deal with situations instead of avoiding them.
