About me

I am an individual who was adopted from India by an American career-military single mother who died when I was 13, leaving me with guardians. I am passionate about young adults finding their way into adulthood. I am practiced in grief counseling, trauma work, phase of life changes, marriage/relationship issues, substance abuse, and family of origin issues. I earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Montevallo in Central Alabama. I have worked in substance abuse/addiction therapy since 2015. My other former positions include being a therapist for women and children at a local women's shelter, therapist at a Methadone clinic, current volunteer therapist for Second Shift of Alabama (an agency that provides assistance to individuals who have aged out of foster care), and currently work with the Department of Psychiatry at UAB providing consultation services with addiction medicine.

Ashley had done such an outstanding job helping me work through some very complex issues. I am sad to hear that she is no longer practicing on this platform. We need more therapists in this world like Ashley.
