Very friendly and professional, good listener and responds well. I’m enjoying working with Avril.

Avril is a careful listener who has a real knack for unravelling my messy thoughts and getting to the nub of my problem. She has also let me see different solutions, ones I would not have known in my own.

Avril is a great and attentive individual. She is knowledgable about a range of topics, which has been very important to me in my search of a therapist, due to my niche struggles of mental health problems, LGBTQ and religious conflicts. I did not think I would be able to find help easily, as I have had numerous therapy and counselling experiences that did not reach my needs due to not being able to understand or being dismissive. I do not feel I have a teaching role of my life experiences with Avril. She ensures that I have a space to share things comfortably at my own pace, and encourages me to actively make decisions for myself, rather than assuming control over my situation. She asks relevant questions and also encourages focus on my well being. She also checks in between sessions, and I can genuinely feel she tries to understand how I am as an individual to put this in to context of what we discuss. As a student, she has been flexible during my study periods and understanding of life changes. I would definitely recommend Avril.

I have had two sessions with Avril and find she is exactly what I need from a therapist. She listens, does not judge, makes me really think about my underlying issues and she helps me communicate my thoughts and feelings.

I like talking to Avril because she is listening and very easy to talk to 🙂

Avril is amazing, she is very professional but also speaks to me like a friend not a client. I have tried NHS therapy and it all seemed very robotic and read off a script. Avril is nothing like that. We chat about my mental health but also have a laugh at the same time

It doesnt feel like a therapy session which i was terrified of, i look forward to our weekly conversations
