I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland and am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). For over five years, I have worked with people to help them reconnect with their ability to heal and become whole. I have experience working with trauma issues, grief, depression, anxiety, stress management, and adjustment difficulties. In addition, I also help my clients when they are struggling to manage their careers. Settings I have worked in include hospitals, clinics, private practice, and county services. As a graduate of Loyola University, I have a specialty in pastoral counseling and am very comfortable working with clients on spiritual and religious issues.
My work focuses on counseling as a collaborative process that meets your therapeutic needs and primary concerns. Counseling methods include traditional psychotherapies that are based in a humanistic approach, cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and rational emotive behavior therapy along with expressive writing, mindfulness, breathing, meditation, and body awareness.

She is well spoken and extremely upbeat great service
My counseling sessions with Barbara Kass are helping me immensely with my journey to sort myself out, and work on how and why I am the person I am today. She does so without casting any judgement, and I always look forward to our chats.
Barbara has helped me so much! To thinking I was crazy before I started with her, to realizing that I am not in control of everything, and shouldn't stress about things I can't control.
I feel very comfortable working with Barbara. She is very caring and after three weeks helped me to feel less anxious and relaxed.
Barbara is awesome. She listens, she understands, and is compassionate. She’s the first voice to ever reassure me that I’m not crazy, I’m just human. I already feel so much better and more equipped to manage day-to-day stressors and anxiety.
Very supportive and always check in with you to make sure everything is okay. The best counselor I have met.
Seriously SO helpful! Very responsive and has an easy schedule to work with. Her advice has helped me in so many ways. She's constantly following up vis messages or sending helpful worksheets. Thank you so much Barbra, you’re a lifesaver!
It’s such a relief to find someone who wants to see me in my entirety and who offers pragmatic advice and solutions. I’m feeling better and more hopeful. Thanks!
She is amazing to talk too and has been extremely helpful with me dealing with my PTSD.
Barbara is supportive and easy to talk to. I definitely recommend her counseling services!
Ms. Kass has honestly really helped me to believe in myself and to not be anxious all the time. She is attentive and pleasant and truly cares about you and your personal concerns. I would recommend her to anyone.
Barbara Kass is very wise and offers reasonable and practical advise. I feel that we've know each other for long time, although we've just met a couple of weeks ago.
I really like Barbara and she really seems to understand my problem is and has provided me with several resources in order to help me. I highly recommend her!
I’ve only been working with Barbara for less than a week and already feel understood, validated, and cared about. Barbara is worth every cent I paid. I want to refer my girlfriend to her too, if that’s possible.
