About me

For over 20 + years I have counted it both a joy and a privilege to share my GOD given gift of connecting with families, couples, adults, teens and adolescents who may be experiencing; life crisis, traumatic experiences, grief, negative thinking patterns, an inability to cope with daily life demands, mental illness, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities or simply seeking a clearer vision of personal goals/growth.

I have worked as a Clinician for the last 5 years. I am grateful for the exchange that takes place within the therapeutic process as it helps me to continuously grow and evolve as a Clinician. Roman 8:28 is one of my favorite scriptures as it teaches that “All things work together for good for those who love the LORD and are called according to his purpose”. I consider this scripture, in addition to the Strengths-Based Perspective and the Resiliency Theory as the foundation of my therapeutic approach. I genuinely believe that at the core of every human being there is a strength and beauty that is capable of overcoming every difficult and challenging life experience.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Houston- Clearlake and my Master’s of Social Work from the University of Houston Main Campus. My professional experience in working with families and children is extensive and includes: working with adults and children living with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities; juvenile offenders and juvenile sex offenders; Group Facilitation for Post Adoption Support Group, Foster care and adoption agency; Crisis intervention, court-ordered supervision and support groups for parents and youth within a specialized Mental Health Unit; juvenile gang members; providing structural family therapy, group therapy and individual therapy to diverse populations with referrals from schools, agencies and juvenile justice and Justice of the peace courts in an effort support parents in addressing truancy, running away, bullying, physical/verbal aggression, suicidal ideation, anger management concerns, and poor coping skills. I have received multiple trainings/certifications to include, Parenting with Love and Limits, Common Sense Parenting, Conflict Resolution Mediator, Motivational Interviewing, Grief and Bereavement, Trauma Based Services, Child and Adolescents Needs and Strengths, Behavior Management and Strengthening Families.

When I learned to see myself the way GOD views all of us, WORTHY, I was able to overcome many life challenges that seemed almost impossible at times. I am passionate about supporting my clients in finding their unique and individual path to healing without judgment.

In my free time, I love to laugh, read positive quotes, travel, play board games with my family, listen to live music, engage in organized dance, volunteer 2 -3 times per month with my church family and attend ladies’ day events and bible study.

Bennette made me feel very comfortable right from the beginning. She is a very kind and caring person that communicates well. She always responds quickly to any messages I leave her and keeps me engaged. For me as Christian I really appreciate that she uses a Biblical worldview for counseling and therapy.
