I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#235) with 43 years of psychotherapy experience. I attended Jacksonville State University, graduated with a BS in Sociology/Gerontology in 1977, and earned an MS in Guidance and Counseling in 1983. I became fully licensed in 2001.
My career has focused on the following areas: Psychotherapy/Counseling and Substance Abuse. I have served individuals, groups, families, couples, at-risk adolescents, and senior adults in various settings, including community-based, private, and public agencies.
The areas I have experience in are; Parenting Issues, Anger Management, Self-Esteem, Coping with Life 3Changes, Aging and Geriatric Issues, Caregiver Issues and Stress, Codependency, Drug and Substance Abuse, Family Problems, Guilt, and Shame, and Women's Issues.
When meeting with a client, I use a Client-Centered Approach to guide individuals toward a better place in life. The approaches utilized in therapy are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Existential Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I want to get to know you well so we can approach your barriers together and navigate toward a positive outcome. Therapy sessions are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and messages are checked during the week.
I always consider it a privilege to work with each individual who entrusts me as their therapist.

I am really thankful for having her as my therapist. She has a gift and it was easy for me to talk to her. I was able to open up to her and allow her to help me. She has helped me figure out a lot of things that was going on with my health wise and it helped me figure out what was causing my anxiety. I am in a great place now because of her willingness to go deeper to get me where I need to be. I will recommend her to anyone.
