About me

I have been counseling in private practice in Nebraska since receiving my Professional Counseling degree from Grand Canyon University in early 2015. A few years ago, we moved to South Dakota where I am also licensed and working as a full time therapist.
I am a spiritually mature Christian and I have been able to assist hundreds of clients of all beliefs and walks of faith in my counseling career. I simply meet my clients where they are and together we focus on where they want to be. Where it is you'd like to be?

My clients love their work with me and I know this because they refer me to their family and friends! I am a positive, solution-oriented, compassionate counselor with a short-term, no-excuses, future-focused, empowering approach. Clients often feel immediate relief and find hope in dire circumstances after just one session, and then we just get together to reinforce the principles, learn new skills and practice their application. I focus on helping you regain control of their own emotional state so you can weather any present or future storm, even if that storm seems to come from the past.

I'm in my fifties now and have been married nearly 40 years (some of them happy). I have two grown sons, and three grandchildren.

I believe my deep faith and midwest roots help me to connect in a more compassionate way with my clients. I am skilled at finding the best parts of clients and letting them shine. I love lifting lids, unlocking new perspectives, and releasing hope. I like to teach principles and skills clients can use both in their current situations and over the course of their lifetime. I want nothing more than to equip my clients for everyday life and future challenges -- I want the benefits of therapy to extend way beyond our counseling relationship.

If you are ready to figure out what is tripping you up, holding you back, and keeping you from the love, joy, and peace you desire, let's talk today.
Maybe you've hit rock bottom. Maybe you're just trying to avoid hitting it.
Let's talk about what you want to be different.
I can help -- let's talk today.

There's always a way; let's find it!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Beth Trennepohl. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Beth comes across as actively enjoying helping people and for me that separates her from most other counsellors who it seems run by the clock, who you only see once a week for a specified amount of time. I write a lot and Beth seems to read it all. I felt a bit guilty about the extra work that I might be giving her but she seems to genuinely enjoy what she does. That's why I keep returning to see her. That together with her practical results focussed approach and her genuine willingness to meet you where you are rather than force you to be something you're not.

Beth is one of the best therapists I’ve ever had. She truly listens and consistently offers helpful tools and techniques to regulate my emotions and manage my thoughts. She also checks in between sessions, and I love that—it really shows she cares. I’m a completely different person than I was when I first met her last year. She is exceptional at what she does, and the lessons she’s taught me will stay with me for life.

Beth is extremely knowledgeable and intentional with everything she says. She offers a great perspective and allows me to speak what I feel, while also leading the conversation to help me. I feel much lighter and hopeful after just 2 sessions.
