About me

Hello! My name is Betsy Narveson. I know that the thought of talking with a therapist can be uncomfortable, or even downright scary! Going out of your comfort zone is hard, but you can feel good about taking action to start to create the life you want! I hope that, as we get to know each other, you can develop trust in my genuine concern and compassion, and feel safe and supported as we work together toward your goals, whatever they may be.

We’ll work collaboratively, based on your preferences and goals. Beyond ensuring that you feel comfortable working with me, my next priority is for you to feel that our time together is productive, that we are getting steadily closer to what you were seeking when you decided to try talking with a therapist. Therefore, I prefer to use approaches that are evidence-based and solution-focused.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Florida, and my graduate degree there as well, in Marriage and Family Therapy. My work in community mental health as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist has allowed me to work with a wide variety of presenting problems. I have counseled both children and adults, in individual and family contexts. The most common concerns I have dealt with are stress, relationship issues, parenting difficulties, anxiety, family conflicts, coping with life changes, and depression, and youth behavioral troubles. Relationships and parenting issues have always been of particular interest to me, and are even more intriguing to me now that I am married and have two children of my own!

I would love to get to know you and assist you with whatever you are facing!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Betsy Narveson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Betsy has been a blessing for me. At first I wasn’t sure about speaking with a therapist. But once I spoke with her we click. She is very supportive and understanding with all my needs. And she has been a tremendous help with helping fix the issues that I’ve been having that I didn’t really know I had. Or that I was in denial about. She’s easy to talk to and always available(meaning she gets back to me quite fast). I would rate her a 10/10.

Betsy is the kind of therapist everyone deserves to have. She is a great listener and provides advice that is easy and effective when applied to everyday life situations. She has already taught me to look at problems in my life through a different, healthier lens. Betsy rocks!

Betsy is amazing at not just listening and fully comprehending complex life situations, but also asking the right questions and guiding healthy self-reflection. I've seen a ton of personal improvement within just 3 weeks of working with Betsy. From the way I handle my thought patterns to seeking solutions to root/core issues rather than symptoms, she has given me so much lifelong knowledge!

I appreciate Betsy's support and reassurance, and I am thankful that she responds in a timely matter, which allows me to discuss my feelings quickly and openly. It has only been two weeks, but I do feel like a bond is being established.
