About Me

Welcome. I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 30 years of continuous experience as a mental health therapist, program manager, clinical supervisor, trainer, and clinical director in various settings, including primary care and a community mental health agency. After being with Better Help for about 5 years, I have found that this process works best when it is client driven, and my general therapeutic philosophy is that honest self exploration is the engine of good therapy. I may give direction at times and even advice if it is solicited, but usually the client holds the key to better life satisfaction and mental well-being. I see my role as a partner and facilitator of that process.

It takes a surprisingly short amount of time to cover the main issues and develop some sort of strategy going forward by applying what we know works in mental health and relationship therapy. Modern brain science demonstrates that by being aware and mindful of our own automatic patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and changing the focus of our attention...as well as HOW we attend to our inner and outer worlds, we can quite literally change and alter the neural pathways in our own brain to improve well-being.

I do think Better Help is unique in the way that it maximizes convenience and quality mental health services at the same time. So many people don't have access to competent, quality, affordable mental health care. I truly love getting to do this on a daily basis. I have had the privilege of talking with men and women all over the world about their stories, each unique in their own way, and yet I find the same psychological themes no matter what country or culture they come from. I love working for Better Help because even after all of the traditional therapy I have done in the past, I still have learned so much from my online clients and have been inspired by their courage and resilience displayed in the face of life’s challenges.

Dr. Burklow has helped me tremendously in continuing to always take the next step for the benefit of myself. I have learned a lot about myself through bouncing ideas, ruminations, and cold hard truth that turned out to be an issue within the way I soothed myself many a time. If you're dealing with uncontrollable thought, racing mind, and being down in the dumps, this guy is refreshing. I highly recommend this doctor... No, man to anyone needing to reflect upon past experiences and grow from them. Dr. Burklow is a one of a kind, genuine person... Regardless of the fact I pay for the app to access his consult.

Utterly phenomenal, without this man I would be in a significantly worse place, I was able to face my fears, get the girl, all whilst over coming depression and anxiety issues. Not a cure all pill, required a lot of work but his capabilities, friendliness and approachability can't be beat!

Dr. Burklow is an exceptional counselor, as this was my first time seeking help I was quite sceptical of the effectiveness of therapy. By the first video session Dr. Burklow helped me define and contextualize the barriers I had. Through the course of our time together I found that he spends a great deal of time truly listening, and relating to lifes struggles, along with theory to help over come what feels like the impossible. Dr. Burklow focuses on tools to help rather then dispensing advice and should dos. As said by Maimonides “ Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”, I believe this rings true for Dr.Burklow’s approach. Over the months I have always looked forward to our conversations whether it was dealing with the next hurtle, or speaking about the state of humanity, and its wonderful and not so wonderful experiences. Booking a session, was always easy, and convenient. My experience through counseling has giving me the ability to confront issues I can control / change, and understand that somethings are okay to be out of my sphere of control. Thank you Dr. Burklow for your time and ear, this has been the start of an awesome journey!

Bradley has been a great therapist who was a great listener, asked a lot of insightful questions and really helped me work through some things I was struggling with. He provided resources that were helpful to me and I never felt pressured to take on something that wasn't right for me. He was very in tune with my thinking. Thanks Bradley!

Barry's qualification and years of experience, as well as his humility and faith, made me feel at ease as soon as I started counseling sessions with him. I knew he could help me and that I'd be ok. Thank you.

He's so helpful, caring, and honest. He has so many techniques to share that I can use myself and with my kids. He's truly one of the best counselors I've ever had!

I just started to work with Bradley. So far he is the best therapist among all I had previously. Lets see what's gonna be next :)

Bradley is awesome. He is real, genuine, down to earth, and practical. I also like that he is empathetic. I feel like a partner in my counseling rather than being in a power relationship. This aspect is important to me. Thank you Bradley!

I have received a lot of help from From Bradley as I'm navigating the 20 year infidelity of my husband. As my husband is trying to reconcile, Bradley is really helping me figure out where my anxiety ends and my rational side begins.

I've been very pleased with his input and his ability to make me think about my situation looking at different aspects of my choices.

Brad is very experienced and knowledgeable, but never pedantic. I appreciate that he never tries to squash me in a box with labels, but is just open to discussing what I need help with and coming up with solutions. He's a practical and very pleasant guy. I appreciate his help.

Work with me!
