Bridgette Eaton

About Me

Greetings, I am a licensed clinical professor counselor in the state of Maryland. I worked within multiple counties in the state of Maryland including Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carrol County, Howard County, and Montgomery County. I have more than 10 years of experience assisting persons in distress related to career difficulties, multiple types of grief including complicated grief resulting from the loss of a loved one to suicide, as well as the loss of a previous ability such as sight and sound, life changes (planned and unplanned), criminal justice involvement, caring for elderly parents as well as loved ones of all ages who have special needs. In addition, I am experienced in assisting persons convicted of serious offenses including murder, those of a sexual nature (i.e. sex offense, prostitution) as well as in developing boundaries and identifying techniques to use when interacting with persons different from one’s self: politically, economically and those with whom we become connected through marriage, at work, school and other places of association. I am equally experienced in assisting those who were victims of crimes inclusive of burglary and rape.

My motto: better is possible. Better coping, outcomes, focus, relationships, etc. is possible.

Primarily, I use cognitive behavior therapy, which involves assessing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors then developing ways to make changes in those areas to feel and function better. In addition, my approach is completely client-centered meaning that you, the client, set the goals for therapy. Also, case management is a large part of my work. While it is nice to gain an understanding of one’s self and what would be beneficial to change or add, it is equally important to be afforded resources that can help you on your journey as well as assistance action planning.

I have a master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. I served as a counselor to persons who were court involved. I was an employment union chapter-representative assisting people in processing their emotions about workplace issues. I also served as a hotline crisis counselor and a mobile crisis team counselor during which I met with clients in the community. In addition, I facilitated a support group for persons who have lost loved ones to suicide as well as worked with those who are grieving one-on-one.

I am here to empower and help you, not judge you. It is my desire to help you eradicate feelings of helplessness, guilt, shame, and poor self-images. Moreover, I am here to help you achieve better coping during and through the circumstances that arise in your life for as short or long as it takes.

I am available Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I offer early morning, mid-day, and evening sessions. For all sessions at 8 pm or later only phone and chat options are available. Please note I regularly reserve slots for clients who are in time zones outside of Maryland within the United States of America by request. Additionally, I respond to all correspondence sent Monday through Thursday within 24 hours and I respond by Monday to all correspondence sent Friday through Sunday.

Bridgette is a great listener and has a strong background. I appreciate her directness most of all, as she doesn't waste my time by dancing around subjects. I genuinely feel better after our sessions and my thoughts are always more organized than they were before.

Bridgette is very relatable and motivating especially for students and or/working students. She is insightful, understanding, and has walked in student's footsteps and can provide good step by step ways to go about success not only in school but in life working through school.

I think my counselor gives the most useful pep talk: the kind based on having helped many people out of similar situations before, but does not allow her experience to overtake her expertise, as she repeatedly stress that what works for different people is very different, definitely would recommend for anyone going through a slump or having doubts about their lives

She gives the best guidance and is truly the most comforting person. She calms my fears and anxiety and always seems to know what to say!
