About me

Hey there! My name is Brittany and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been providing counseling services for 8 years, specializing in mental health and substance use disorders. I have earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in social work from Longwood University and Virginia Commonwealth University, respectively.

My experience covers inpatient and outpatient therapy settings, as well as crisis stabilization and domestic and sexual violence work. My passion is women's issues; however, I very much enjoy working with men, as well! I hold a strong belief that many of the issues we struggle with are related to childhood and attachment issues, so I utilize this as a theoretical orientation in my practice. I incorporate trauma-informed and strength-based approaches into all of my sessions, and utilize mindfulness, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavior therapy, and client-centered therapy, among others. My belief is that YOU are the expert on you and I am simply here to guide you in your path toward recovery from whatever issues you are facing. I view my role as very collaborative with you in the driver's seat!

Rest assured that you can expect a non-judgmental, respectful working relationship with me at all times. Our sessions will be safe spaces for you to be able to explore intimate details of your life, concerns, and struggles while working toward utilizing and building upon your inherent strengths and skills to lead a more fulfilling life. I look forward to working with you and hope to hear from you soon!
