My name is Brook Algarin, and I have been in the field of Mental Health for around 17 years. I graduated from the Medical College of Virginia with a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. After several years of working in the field of mental health, I felt that there was something missing in my work that allowed me to understand the mind/body connection. I decided to take this crazy leap of faith and to learn more about how the body works from a holistic perspective. I decided that chiropractic would allow that me the opportunity to learn more, and to be able to offer more to my clients. I graduated from Sherman Chiropractic College in 2010. Over the years I has worked in residential treatment facilities, inpatient hospitals, outpatient mental health centers, school based counseling and vocational rehabilitation.
My goal and mission is to bring mind body programs to people, and to help educate and empower people to live their best life! I enjoy working with people to help them find out their true potential, and teaching them about ways that they can THRIVE and not just SURVIVE. Because stress effects us all, I want people to have a better understanding about how stress affects the body and ways that we can change our response to this stress and therefore change our brain in response to the stress.
I have been married to my husband Carlos for fifteen years and we have two children. In my spare time, I am spending time with my family. I enjoy being outside, reading and a game/movie night with my family. I look forward to working with you. Let me know how I can help!

Brook is very understanding and attentive. She listens to everything but can really identify what is the true problem and gives great advice and steps to solve it. She's a great person.
I love how she sounds warm although we are only communicating by texts. There is that certain nice vibe.
I have been talking with her for a few months now and have opened up a lot more that I thought I would originally. I do feel comfortable talking about pretty much everything and feel respected. She is still offering me ways to help when I am having issues and makes me feel like she legitimately cares about my concerns.
Brook is an amazing counselor, she listens, suggests options, and is truly an objective sounding board for my pain. She has helped me cope with several issues, and I always come away from our meetings feeling empowered and ready for the next step.
Brook is lovely to talk to and asks thoughtful questions and gives helpful homework. She is helping me work through my issues in a way I could never have thought of on my own, without forcing me into crisis mode. Working with her feels like we are doing challenging work together.
I felt really comfortable talking to Brook straight away. She made me feel at ease and doesn't make me feel like my problems are silly. Her help and ideas are really useful. Thank you Brook!
Brook Algarin helped me with practical ways to calm myself when anxious which were very helpful. I also found the live chat sessions very supportive and useful. She’s a great counsellor.
She really listens and is very empathetic. I feel like I can tell her anything. I know she will always get back to me.
To have someone that helps you put things into the right perspective is priceless and she is doing a great job so far. I am really loving it.
