I start with the assumption that every human being has a purpose and the ability to be a productive member of society. I believe that we all have an optimal self and that it is helpful to have someone act as a mirror and a support to keep moving toward that optimal self. I primarily utilize the practice of neuropsychotherapy, although this approach leaves room for most other theories under its umbrella. My approach often employs the theory and techniques of Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Adlerian, and Existential therapies. I believe in a healthy mind, body, and soul, and in that vein, I provide counseling in spiritual matters tailored to each client’s personal beliefs. I am proud of my formal education, and I obviously could not do this work without it. However, the key to my ability to help others has always been the education I’ve garnered through my own life experiences. I draw on both of these influences as appropriate. At present, I am only taking adult clients for individual therapy.

Brooks has gone above and beyond in his help for me and my mental health. I would Recommend him to anyone who is seeking to sincerely better themselves, and not someone who is looking for answers that they want to hear, rather than the truth. Always on time and always honest

This being my first time speaking with a therapist, Brooks has been great. He really has really put things in a different perspective for me to analyze differently and it really helped me understand many of my own actions, thoughts, and ideas I which was very confused about. He is a great listener and makes you feel very welcome to share things in a nonjudgmental way. 10/10 would recommend. He has studied his work and it shows. :) Thank you Brooks

Every time I talk to Brooks I feel like I’m talking to a friend that cares and respects me. I have tried therapy previously and would always feel so heavy after each session and that is not the case this time. He has helped me see what good things I bring to the table and has helped me accept myself as I am. Always keeping an upbeat attitude and showing compassion as well through any situation that I share with him.

Brooks Johnson is a great counselor. He listens, allows you to vent, gives you insight on a different perspective, gives you coping skills, and more. I actually look forward to my weekly session instead of fear it like I used to.
