About me

Welcome to Better Help! I am Bryan Young, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master's Degree in Counseling and Classical Philosophy from Criswell College in Texas. I specialize in individual therapy and am dedicated to helping you achieve a better, more fulfilling life.

I am not clinically neutral regarding your wellbeing, Socratic ignorance is the ideal I hold myself to in the counseling room, I do adjust my approach based on your feedback because you are always to best judge of your emotions and values. My intent as a therapist is to always practice humanizing hospitality when you give me feedback that you don’t feel heard it helps me improve our relationship , when I listen to other counselors I noticed they often say to each other counseling is more art than science, I agree with them I think of counseling as scientifically informed art.
.
I am excited to work with you and help you achieve your goals and regain your emotional equilibrium . My hope is to work myself out of a job as soon as reasonably possible given the circumstance's that you find yourself in, Please feel free to treat the first session as a job interview, feel free to ask any questions or state any concerns in our first session, the next sessions will focus more on you than on me.

Sincerely,
Bryan Young, LPC

Bryan is a fantastic therapist. He is kind, thoughtful, funny, articulate, and brings a real sense of levity our session. Highly recommend

Bryan asked the right questions to help me organize my thoughts. He helped me see things I wasn't considering because of the pressures I had placed on myself. This was a valuable experience for me and I greatly appreciate his help!
