About me

Peace and Blessings! I’m Dr. Cal Spinks Ed.D., LPC, NCC, BC-TMH. I’m a seasoned Behavioral Health Practioner, Virtual Educator, Radio Personality, & Author. Now, I would love to bring my expertise directly to you- I believe I truly share a new, broader perspective and refreshing worldview that is so needed in our society today. From a young age, it was clear to those that knew me well that he was a natural-born helper and strong advocate for anyone in need.

Therefore, I have been a clinician for many years and have expertise in counseling, teaching, mentoring, and advocating for the health and well-being of my students and clients. My hope is to give voice to those who are part of underserved communities. Fortunately, now I’m living in my purpose, but I didn't always see my life in such a positive and affirming way. I learned and honed these skills through overcoming obstacles, trusting in my spirit and the Universe. It is now my desire to give back and share my story and journey of how a young boy from the inner-city projects achieved what so many might have said was impossible. I have accomplished many of my 'lofty' childhood dreams. And now I’m here to share how I did it to help inspire you to overcome any of your own obstacles to reach your dreams as well.

I am licensed in Texas and Missouri with 30 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, LGBT+ related issues, trauma and abuse, & motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. Additionally, I work with couples to repair trust, improve communication, and strengthen their emotional intimacy with each other. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & provide empowering opportunities for you on your journey.

In this world, people experience trauma and oppression daily. This constant stress impacts the way you feel and causes anxiety or depression. You need support from someone who understands your cultural experiences. Now, you can have support from someone who appreciates your pain and suffering because they have had their own struggles to overcome. In addition, someone who comprehends the way you communicate and how you express yourself. Well, you do not have to look any further. I would love to provide you the mental health support you need. Remember, you belong here! Let's get started today!
