During 16 years as a therapist, I have enjoyed helping families and individuals improve emotions, thinking patterns and relationships to live more fulfilled lives. My training (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Multisystemic Therapy, etc) has provided me the opportunity to work with a host of problems, including parenting, conflict resolution, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and work related issues. I enjoy working from a systemic approach to explore all aspects of a person's life, and this greatly increases the likelihood of success for the individuals and families I counsel. My therapy approach is supportive, yet directive. I see you as the expert and I am here to assist you with the tools you need along the way. This means, I will provide you with a caring environment to be open and expressive, I will ask you questions to help understand more about you, and I will use a variety of techniques to help you decide the best course of action that you would like to take for the circumstances impacting your journey.
Let me tell you a little about myself! My husband I have been married for 22 years and I consider him my best friend and supporter! We have two great kids, ages 11 and 16, who keep us rather busy with all of their activities and the animals they have encouraged use to love (Cash - our Wire-Haired Pointing Griffon & Willow and Blossom - our two Guinea Pigs). My greatest enjoyment in life is loving others, whether it is through spending time with my family or helping the people I work with.

My therapist, Candace Newland, LMHP has literally saved my life! The person I was when I started was scared, lonely and lost. She helped me find me, grow stronger in my relationship with God and has helped me become an all over better person. There are no words to express my gratitude for everything she has done for me!
Being new to therapy I was a bit apprehensive as to whether or not it would be beneficial for me. Candace has done an amazing job of making me feel comfortable to share and truly listened too. She does a wonderful job of understanding the issues I am bringing up and identifying actionable things I can do to improve them. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in search of a therapist.
I’ve only had one session so far but was extremely impressed how comfortable I felt, how well she understood, and didn’t feel judged or pitied. Great feedback and genuine support all around!!
Candace has been extremely understanding of what’s going on in my life and trying to help me in ways that would work the best for me.
Candace is absolutely so helpful! I have been working with her for only three weeks and truly feel as if it is making a difference. Very happy with my experience!
Candace made me feel comfortable immediately upon meeting her. She’s easy to communicate with and very responsive to messages, she also is wonderful about checking in intermittently. This has been my first experience with therapy and I am more than happy with my choice to finally seek extra resources.
Candace is extremely personable and very professional. She has been great at offering new ways of thinking and practical steps for me to help me move forward. It’s been a very positive experience for me
Candace is awesome. I always feel like I am heard and I always leave our session in a better mindset.
I really enjoyed counseling with Candace! I did counseling with her about a year ago and recently renewed my better help membership in order to receive counseling from her again.
Candace is great!
Candace has been absolutely wonderful! I’m so grateful for all she has done in my life.
I feel Candace really cares and that is important to me.
Candace and I have been chatting a short while. She has aided me in itemizing issues. Makes sure to respond to all topics I bring up, and sometimes suggests courses of action to consider. I'm very stubborn, yet dont REALLY know what I need, cause i kinda know, but I'm not really sure most the times.
I’ve only been talking with Candace for a couple months but I can honestly say it’s been a life saver. I was an anxious wreck before talking to her, but she helps me rationalize and organize my thoughts. I talk to her about work and home life stressors and she always has great useful advice.
She’s a great listener and gives great feedback and different options to make therapy work for me. I appreciate her and everything she’s done for me.
This is my first time seeking therapy and I was certainly a bit nervous. Talking to Candace feels like I’m taking to a lifelong friend that has my best interest in mind. Felt very comfortable right of the bat and it allowed me to be very open with her. I received a bunch of great tips on how to work on the issues I’m having with this pandemic and I’m grateful that a service like this exists.
Candace does a great job listening and being empathetic to each situation. Candace has a wide expertise and is wise in giving advice and letting me share when I need and want to. I highly recommend her for your counselor.
Candace is awesome. I could go on forever but I’ll let you (others seeking counseling) decide. I think she’ll be in my mind as long as I have the ability to remember.
She been totally amazing and willing to be helpful. She listens and does her best to respond to you as soon as she can. She is very thoughtful with her responses and willing to see things from your point of view without any judgment. I would definitely recommend her.
Thank you for listening to me and helping me.
Candace is very down to earth and easy to talk to. I feel like she really cares and take a lot of time to think about what she is saying when we are on the phone as well as how she responds to my questions that I send to her.
I'm happy that I have someone very supportive and helping me build up as a person.
Candace has been a huge help. She is very quick to respond, which I greatly appreciate. She even scheduled a last minute phone call with me when I needed help the most; taking time out of her outside scheduled hours. I feel she truly cares about helping me and I recommend her to anyone. Her advice has been very valuable. I look forward to working with her more. Thank you so much, Candace!
Candace Newland has been able to identify some key issues for me within just a few interactions. I can tell that she really listens to what I have to say even though it is in a written format. I am grateful I have this avenue of counseling given my busy schedule at the moment.
Candace has been understanding and supportive of me and my concerns.
Candace Newland did an amazing job helping me through the struggles of being a step-dad, and adapting to my new responsibilities. I have difficulty asking for help since my wife has so much on her plate, but Candace showed me ways to better communicate with my wife as well as my step children. I fully recommend Candace, and in the future, should I require more assistance, will be seeking her out! Thanks for everything!
