About me

Hi! My name is Candice Dixon and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina. I have been married for 12 years to my wonderful husband and we created an energetic and loving 9-year-old young lady. I have over 16 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse with over 9 years of therapy experience. I have provided treatment in varies settings such as outpatient, residential, foster care, and mobile crisis doing individual, group, family therapy, and crisis interventions. I consider myself an eclectic therapist as I believe not one modality is appropriate for every person's situation. However, the modalities I mainly use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I welcome individuals who may have issues with mood disorders with or without psychosis, trauma, anxiety, anger, life changes, and family, however, not limited to other issues. I am a certified treatment provider for personality disorders and sexual offenders as well.

Every client is unique, and I approach the client and situation as such. I come from a non-judgmental perspective provided with empathy and guidance; we are all human and we all have struggles. Past and current clients have informed me that I am very approachable, a great listener, humorous when appropriate, and wise to where it has helped them make progress in their lives. My goal is to always provide guidance, compassion, honesty, and enrich the lives of others to help my clients reach the goal they desire to achieve. So let me help you be your guide to self-fulfillment and maintenance.

From day one I have felt extremely comfortable and understood. She is an avid listener and explains things in a way that I might not otherwise see. As an overthinker she breaks things down to get me out of my head when it's really bad. Quick replies to text really help keep me focused when it gets out of hand. I highly recommend speaking with Mrs. Dixon she has been very helpful in finding myself again.

Candice is extremely good at actively listening and asking the right questions. Video chat with her is great because she reads my facial expressions well. What I am most thankful for is the ability to walk away from each session with a small, but achievable goal to work on. If you’re considering a therapist and want someone who will encourage you to open your mind, and reframe your thoughts in a positive way - Candice is your girl!
