About me

In my practice, I have the opportunity to help people from a wide variety of backgrounds who come to me seeking help with life's issues. During my internship and practicum experience, I worked on a college campus primarily serving individuals between the ages of 18 and 24. I have also worked in a community counseling center where I was able to help people of all ages respond to everything from relationship problems, trauma-related issues, and dealing with stress and anxiety.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. My therapeutic approach combines cognitive-behavioral, dialectical, and mindfulness-based treatments. Historically I have seen clients face life's challenges much better when they understand what they can and cannot change and how to respond to difficult circumstances. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach so it is my relationship with and listening to you that will allow me to determine how best to help you achieve the goals that YOU set in counseling.

I look forward to working with you as you continue your journey.

I’ve been working with Carlton for about 6 or so months now and I highly recommend him. He listens but also provides constructive advice on how to move forward and heal. Every time I see Carlton it refreshes my hope and helps give me the courage and support I need to keep persevering through trials. In my case, divorce. 10/10 he is great at what he does!
