About me

Greetings! My name is Dr. Carmen Majied and I am pleased that you've chosen to visit BetterHelp!

A little about me... I come to you as a Doctor of Clinical Psychology, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a compassionate clinician with 17 years of professional experience providing individual and couples counseling. In my work with individuals and couples who are seeking support and guidance, I assign top priority to establishing a solid therapeutic alliance with each client who chooses to share the intricacies of his/her personal journey with me.

I mostly tend to draw from the Person-Centered Approach when in a therapeutic relationship with my clients. This means that I make consistent efforts to meet each client "where they are" and to serve as a catalyst for each individual who is progressing through their unique process of self-discovery and self-identification.

Although my primary treatment modality centers around the Person-Centered Approach, I pride myself on being able to access a multitude of other therapeutic orientations depending on what each client may need from me in the moment. Offering my clients an eclectic, flexible and accommodating approach to treatment is my commitment to each and every individual who chooses to engage in a collaborative partnership with me.

The road to self-discovery can be both exciting and challenging, but you don't have to travel it alone. I look forward to being of service to you!

I would highly recommend Dr. Majied, and am so grateful I was able to connect with her during an anxiety-producing transition in my life. Dr. Majied's extensive experience is very apparent in her active listening and objective feedback, but I also loved that she was willing to share her similar life experiences so that I could learn from her examples. Our sessions were very conversational, and I loved that. Dr. Majied was incredibly support and encouraging of me to find my own way through what we worked on (use what works, don't use what doesn't). She was really able to help me examine how I show up in the world, set new habits where needed, and gave great suggestions and feedback as I worked on increasing self-esteem and forming a healthier relationship with anxiety. Dr. Majied is beyond knowledgeable and personable, and I always looked forward to our sessions. I can't say enough about how wonderful and qualified I think she is, she was truly a live saver for me when I needed it most. Thank you Dr. Majied.

Dr. Majied is BLACK GIRL MAGIC in human form. Before starting this journey, I thought counseling meant admitting that I was crazy or was something I should be ashamed of. But right away, Dr. Majied dispelled all those thoughts/beliefs, she made me feel so comfortable right away, + with every session it was like she read my mind. It was like she knew what I needed to hear to see a different perspective or challenge myself to be better. She always listened attentively, never judged, or even seemed inattentive. She never guided the situation with her own agenda, she just listened to me, asked questions for clarity, made sure I felt heard, + guided me to my own answers, based on where I was + where I wanted to go. And she’s funny as hell. So, if you’re considering counseling, she’s the REAL DEAL! She helped me change my life, forever.

Dr. Majied is awesome! I have had a few therapists before and I’ve never felt as comfortable as I do with her. She’s knowledgeable, down to earth and easy to talk to about anything. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Honestly feel like I have been needing someone like Dr. Majied In my life for sooo long. It’s only been a couple sessions but I’m so comfortable just spilling all my thoughts and emotions with no judgment when talking to her. Which feels nice since I don’t have anyone else I can do that with. She’s so sweet and is an amazing listener and really gives you a new unbiased perspective on your thoughts.
