Hello, my name is Carol Cherich. I have a PhD in counselling and addictions as well as vocational rehabilitation. I have been licensed since 2002 with over 15 work experience in both mental health and addictions. I also provide clinical supervision for graduate counselling students in Tennessee and Kentucky. I am very familiar with the military culture and was trained as a Medic while on active duty. Currently, work with military soldiers and family members. I have worked at several government hospitals throughout the country including work as a contractor in Germany for a year. My style of counselling tends to be direct and would consider myself a "behavioralist" and believe anyone can change their behaviours. I also use mindfulness, a big proponent of stress reduction, and utilize various modalities when working with clients and/or family members. As a second generation American, I have extensive experience working with immigrants and people of colour. Overall, my style of counselling is very eclectic and supportive. I also utilize humour and bibliotherapy as a tool for change and growth.
There is a saying "If you CHANGE the way you LOOK at things, the things you look at CHANGE"
Look forward to hearing from you. CAROL
