About me

I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I have experience working in the mental health treatment field for over 15 years. I have been providing treatment as a CMHC for over 5+ years. I have worked for the past 5 years primarily with service member in the military and their families including those who are currently serving and also veterans. This has allowed me the opportunity to work with all age groups from children to the elderly. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I have experience working with issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, trauma, childhood trauma, deployment and reintegration, couples issues, parenting struggles, women's issues, and grief and loss.

I fully understand that reaching out and asking for help may be the hardest thing that someone may ever have to do. I appreciate the courage that it takes. The atmosphere of warmth, empathy and non-judgmentally understand that I work hard to provide in our sessions will help you feel comfortable in doing the work that you need to do. I believe in meeting you where you are and working within your value system to help you make a life that is even more worth living. I am a very client-centered clinician and believe that the treatment plan and goals that we work on should be your plan and your goals, unique to your needs and desires.

I typically use DBT (for skill building) and EMDR (for trauma reprocessing). The combination of these 2 types of therapy have been very successful in helping clients make changes in their lives. Most of us have trauma in our lives and EMDR is an amazing approach to dealing with traumatic events in a effective and yet kind way. My job is to provide you with a safe place to do that work.

I am excited to meet you and hope that we can work together to help you make the changes you desire in your life. I'm honored to be a part of your journey!
