Carol Phillips, LMSW
About me
My name is Carol Phillips. I am a fully licensed masters level social worker (LMSW) in the state of Michigan. I have been practicing social work for twenty years. When I was young, a social worker helped me during a time of need. I decided to dedicate my life to helping others like she did.
I have worked in a variety of locations including hospitals, emergency rooms, prisons, outpatient mental health clinics, crisis centers, and an insurance company. I have worked with people of all ages and life circumstances. I will take all of these different experiences into my work with you. I have specialized training in trauma informed treatment. I use CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) which focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. I have also been trained in motivational interviewing, which means that I will always respect you as the authority on you. I am not here to tell you how to solve your problems, but instead, to go on a journey together that will allow you to discover how to live your best life and come up with the solutions that work best for you.
