About me

Hello! My name is CarolAnn Anglesey, you can call me CarolAnn, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. LCSWs are social workers who have been trained and licensed to provide mental health counseling. I have been a therapist for 20 years and have worked with many different populations who have come to me with a variety of issues. I have worked extensively with issues of abuse and domestic violence, helping people find strength and confidence through the pain of their past. I have also worked with service members of the armed forces struggling with the various issues faced in service domestically and abroad. And through it all, certain struggles weave their way in and out of all our lives-- depression, anxiety, grief, pain, loss, and loneliness.

I am a good listener with a talent for putting people at ease and providing a safe, accepting environment for you to share your concerns. I also enjoy educating people about the signs and symptoms of mental illness as well as ways to cope with and even conquer their travails. I am a Jungian therapist, but also employ whatever therapeutic practice that may be helpful for each individual patient, including cognitive behavioral, rational emotive, reality therapy, choice theory, solution focused, existential, narrative, dialectical behavioral, trauma-focused, etc. I believe in being honest and will, at times, practice some brutal honesty when needed, but try to do so with compassion, sensitivity, and respect.

Therapy can be hard work, and there are no quick answers. Sir Winston Churchill once said, "Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb." If you are ready for the challenge-- if you are ready to change your life, to heal, to move on, to feel free from your burdens, I'm here to help.
