About me

I first became interested in counselling and psychotherapy when I was studying in the field of alternative medicine. I had always been interested in healing modalities and philosophies, and soon realized that my passion lied in emotional, psychological, and spiritual growth and healing - though I find this many times to be connected with physical healing as well.

From 2011 to 2012 I did my first qualification in counselling at the University of Edinburgh - this was an MSc in Counselling Studies with a focus on psychodynamic counselling and person-centred counselling. Later in 2014, I went on to do my full professional training in psychodynamic counselling (MA Counselling) at Goldsmiths College, University of London, qualifying as a practicing counsellor in 2016.

I gained extensive experience working as a counsellor for mental health organisations in London, United Kingdom, including Brent, Wandsworth & Westminster Mind (2017-present), Latin American Women's Right's Service (2019), and Living Well CIC (2021-present). I have worked with people who have presented with symptoms of depression and anxiety, with eating disorders, relationship issues, addiction issues, low self-esteem and self-worth issues, domestic violence, childhood trauma, and much more. I have worked with a diverse range of people from different communities, nationalities, ethnicities, sexual orientations, genders, and sub-cultures. I especially have a lot of experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, people living with HIV, and with the Latin American women's communities. I also have a special interest in mindfulness approaches, trauma-informed approaches, as well as somatic, movement, and body-oriented treatment approaches. Though my main training is in psychodynamic counselling, I feel that my work is also intuitive as well as integrative. I have continuing professional development trainings in other approaches as well such as psychosynthesis (Graduate Certificate in Psychosynthesis Foundations), couple therapy (Couple Therapy for Depression), and trauma-informed approaches. I approach the individuals I work with with curiosity, kindness, and compassion.

I offer both short-term counselling and long-term counselling. If you feel that we could work well together then please contact me for an initial meeting. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.
