My name is Carolyn Durham. I am a licensed professional counselor with over 12 years experience. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University where I received my bachelor of science degree and social work certification. I then completed my graduate work at The University of Houston, Clear Lake where I earned my Master of Science degree in Counseling, and shortly thereafter, my professional counseling license.
I have worked with a variety of clients over my career who have included individuals and families coping with change, anxiety, and depression. I have worked in the medical field for over 10 of those years and have counseled people struggling with acute and chronic medical illnesses such as cancer, stroke, transplant and more.
I also have experience teaching in the public schools and college level. I understand the challenges these environments pose for both students and parents.
I believe my approach to counseling is to provide you with a safe and empathic environment which allows us, together, to explore areas of concern. I I look forward to working with individuals who are experiencing difficulty with any of these issues.
Additional areas of focus: Addictions, Family conflicts, Parenting issues, Self esteem, Compassion fatigue, Adoption and Foster Care, Aging and Geriatric Issues, Cancer, Caregiver Issues and Stress, Chronic Pain Illness and Disability, Fertility Issues, Hoarding, Hospice and End of Life Counseling, Mood Disorders, Obsessions, Compulsions, and OCD, Social Anxiety and Phobia
