Hello! My name is Carri Wilson. I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas.
I have 24 years of counseling experience working in varying areas of the mental health field. I started my experience working with mainly women’s issues including domestic abuse and self-esteem issues. I especially enjoyed working with women of all ages dealing with relationship issues and conflict of role expectations in the family. This has recently evolved into counseling a generation of women that are now caring for their elderly parents and dealing with the challenges of Dementia and Alzheimer’s while trying to balance a personal life. Only just this year these issues became a personal challenge for me. Now more than ever I believe counseling support is imperative for the caregivers experiencing such stress.
I worked for almost 20 years in the field of education counseling children and parents alike on issues such as emotional disturbances, autism, ADHD, abandonment, effects of divorce, academic issues, behavior issues, cultural differences, drug abuse and special education concerns. Acting as an administrator for IEP’s and 504 accommodations allowed me the opportunity to advise parents regarding behavioral techniques and modifications needed to address a variety of emotional, physical and social needs of children. I have a soft spot in my heart for kids and truly believe parents should be supported as much as possible in the rearing of their offspring. With the transit nature of our society young parents often do not have the support available and need an encouraging professional to give guidance and direction. Because of my experience, I am a great resource in the face of these types of challenges.
For the last 15 years I have conducted family evaluations for families going through contentious custody issues, adoptions and guardianships. This experience in forensic counseling afforded me the opportunity to delve into the lives of families experiencing a myriad of problems. Working with the family courts and family agencies in the community gave me a wide variety of perspectives and options for problem solving.
I use a variety of techniques, using what I feel will works best with clients but usually lean toward a cognitive behavioral approach and person-centered style. That means I will be working with your thoughts, feelings and behaviors while making your best welfare my priority. It is important to me to form a genuine bond of trust with each client to ensure an honest relationship.
My style of counseling will be encouraging, warm and supportive. I truly believe that I can help with setting goals, changing behaviors, and using tools to make better decisions for you. I like to empower my clients to find ways to help themselves.
If you need a sincere person to work with, I am happy to help!

Carri is a warm, compassionate and capable therapist. She has helped me through many a challenging time, even with months in between visits. I appreciate Carri's good cheer, thoughtful listening and gentle manner. Highly recommend!
I've been working with Carri Wilson for about 2 years now. She is a master therapist! She has guided me through overwhelming loss and grief, anger, anxiety, depression, and ugly family drama. Carri has taught me to set and keep boundaries, to shift from emotional thinking to logical thinking, to redirect my emotional energy to more productive pursuits, and that it is a good thing to value myself. Her insights are precise. She challenges me and encourages me. She has equipped me with much-needed life skills and coping skills. She helped me to tear down all the creative blocks, so that I am finally painting again. I am forever grateful that she has walked with me through two of the most difficult years of my life. Thank you, Carri!
Mrs. Wilson is one of the most friendliest and genuine people I have ever met. She supports you in more ways than one and is always a listening ear. She understands where you are coming from and comforts you just as if you are her own! The relationship she builds with her clients is truly astonishing and I am forever grateful for her heart, her advice, and her guidance through some of the most difficult times of my life.
Carri is an amazing therapist who is so talented at what she does. I am new to therapy and was a little bit apprehensive but Carri made me feel so comfortable and at ease straight away. I have only had a couple of sessions with Carri but I feel so uplifted after a session with her that I am already looking forward to the next session. I could not recommend her enough!
Carri is wonderful! She is very sweet and supportive, I would definitely recommend her to anyone seeking help and especially newcomers who are nervous or unsure of how to try therapy
One of the sweetest women you could care to meet. A great professional, respectful, caring and skilled. Can't recommend her enough
Carri is absolutely amazing. She’s like a mother figure to me and has made me a better mother in the process. She’s so kind and caring but she also knows her stuff! I could not have done this last few months without her and I’m a very hard person to open up!! Love her!!
She listens very patiently and gets exactly what my feelings are. Very helpful and understanding. Looking forward for more sessions to receive her suggestions .
Cari is great! she understands me so well.
I have only had the opportunity to talk to her once and she was very understanding and kind.
I am so grateful for Carri. She is really someone who devotes the entire session to providing full attention to me and my needs. She makes me feel like I'm her only client and she is fully prepared and energized to engage with me. She give me homework and is available in the chat as well. I'm very pleased with Carri.
Carri has been instrumental in working out some classroom and anxiety issues with our 9 year old. She has given great insight to what has been an eventful year for our family. We were taught actionable tools that have been highly effective for our entire family. Thank you Carri!
So far in the few sessions I've had with Carri, I feel myself beginning to find my footing on the road to overcoming the obstacles I am facing.
She is attentive and makes sure you feel heard. She actually cares and wants you to know that she is there to help you through whatever challenges you're facing.
I already have a new perspective on a few things and myself. She has pushed me to see myself through a different lens, which I still have been struggling with but she's there to help. Through messages and conversation, I truly feel that with Carri's clear perspective and calming way of talking to me I will eventually reach the other side of my obstacles!
I’m quite picky about the people I work with but I really like Carri, and am eternally grateful for all the help and support she has provided me.
Working with Carri has been such a joy! It is such a pleasant experience having someone that listens, identifies patterns, brings clarity, and offers such great support throughout my time in counseling. Carri balances faith with her expertise and we've created an amazing bond. She is a rockstar therapist and I love working with her.
Carri has been phenomenal for me. As I'm sitting and chatting with a wise friend who listens well, asks questions, and makes me dive into thoughts deeper so that I'm really doing the work. She listens to my personality needs and often gives me "homework" since I like to have checklists and things to do. She is a gift, and I'm so thankful for my time with her.
Carrie “gets me” and has from the very beginning. She always hears what I’m actually saying even if I don’t know what I’m actually saying. She calls me on things I try to skip over. I love everything about our sessions. I feel like a better, saner, whole person.
Carri is heaven sent. She was all ears in our sessions, she was an enabler for me to be more honest with myself and strive to be a better person in my own time. She is direct to the point, provides value adding insights/ advice. I will definitely request to be paired with Carri again if and when I need counselling again.
Carri is wonderful. She makes me feel heard and seen.
She is awesome!!!
Carri is such a beautiful human being! She is utterly kind, honest and supportive. She also incredibly professional. She has been listening and guiding me effectively since the very first session I've had with her. I think the most helpful feeling when doing therapy is knowing that your counselor REALLY has your back - that's how Carri makes me feel. I would definitely recommend her as a counselor.
Carrie is great. She listens, is validating, and gets to the point.
