About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas with over 17 years working with children and teens ages 4-18 in an educational setting as well as in a counseling setting. I have worked with children and adults who have experienced domestic violence, physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, as well as with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, sexual identity, bipolar, borderline personality disorder, DMDD, and ODD.

My counseling style is warm, inviting, calm, and genuine. I believe that, given the right tools, you can learn to listen and understand what you need to move forward in life. Listening, and treating all persons with respect, compassion, honesty, and sensitivity is my strength, and my motto . My approach to counseling combines expressive arts, EMDR, and CBT with a person-centered approach that allows the client to lead. Your plan will be tailored to specifically meet you learn to navigate your needs, wants, desires for your life. I believe that it takes courage to trust someone and ask for help. I would be honored to walk with you through your journey of change as you build new resources within you to begin to thrive while gaining courage and growth.

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’"

Carrie is amazing. She listens when I need to vent but more importantly she has a wide variety of therapeutic techniques, homework, in-session supports, and thinks outside the box on how to help. I highly recommend her!!

She allows me to speak freely, helps me be transparent with myself and is helping me about my boundaries. I feel comfortable with her.
