About Me

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out and considering me for counseling. The counseling relationship is a very important one and I will do my best to keep it positive and helpful.
I am an Approved Licensed Professional Counselor with over 18 years of experience working with adults, adolescents and their families. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, self-harm, parenting problems, life challenges, and lack of motivation. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse . I am a Certified Trauma Professional through IATP.

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques that have proven to be helpful to others whom I have worked closely with. I would like to find the ones you are most comfortable with and of course most effective for you. I believe, it is possible to get our lives where we want to be with the support of someone who believes in us. I am a kind, compassionate and honest counselor. It is important to openly communicate about counseling strategies and how they are or are not working during our time together. This will help guide us so we know the next direction to take.

A few of my favorite therapies include client-centered and cognitive behavior techniques, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Impact Therapy, and Reality Therapy. DBT is basically a non-judgmental therapy accepting you where you are but helping you make changes to reach your goals of where you want to be. This therapy focuses on mindfulness, self-regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal relationships. Impact Therapy is a non-judgmental therapy using analogies to shift our thinking to a healthier frame of mind. Reality therapy accepts you where you are and then focuses on the goals you have and how you will reach your goals.
I am flexible and will work with you on a schedule that fits you best.

I am hopeful to provide my services and look forward to our therapeutic relationship and creating positive direction in your life! It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life. I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you!

Catherine is amazing! She listens and asks questions that truly make you think about the issue at hand. I couldn't have been paired with a more insightful person.

I worked with Catherine on issues concerning depression, anxiety, self-worth, and career difficulties. In every response she was understanding and asked thoughtful questions that would get me to see things differently. She was always quick to respond even when I wasn't. If I should feel the need to get counseling again, I would definitely request her specifically.

She is tough and will hold you accountable for your thoughts and inaction but it’s exactly what I need to help me through me depression. She is kind and understanding and challenges my way of thinking.

Catherine has been the greatest support in my life. When I first connected with her, I was right out of the psych ward, unstable and afraid. I felt no hope in getting better. She taught me skills that made me feel safer within myself and guided me in challenging my distressing thoughts. I feel like I’m part of the world again. She gave me so much hope, and that hope is what keeps me strong. I highly recommend Catherine if you are in a bad place and don’t see any way out. I feel ready to take on the world. My BPD is under control, my mood is better, and I am finally understanding what self care actually is. I can’t thank her enough.

She is very good at interpretation even if you are bad at explaining things. Very good to put anxiety into context.

I really respect Catherine and how she can get to the heart of the issues you are trying to work on and make you think about how to solve them yourself. It's far more effective than having someone simply give advice or sympathize.
