About me

My name is Catherine (Cathy) Walker. I have been working with individuals since I have been licensed with my LMHC for six years now. I do have experience working with survivors of disasters while I was in my bachelors’ program and master’s program. In my experience assisting clients I have used theories such as Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), ACT therapy, and Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I have been trained in EMDR therapy to help clients deal with trauma and recover. Also, I find it helpful to teach clients Mindfulness skills to use outside of therapy and to gain daily strength. As your therapist I will assist you to find the best possible ways to change behaviors or reach goals that you would like to reach. I would like the opportunity to explore what your goals are and help you find the peace of mind you are striving.

I enjoyed my meetings with Cathy. She does really listen to her clients and remembers things you've mentioned in previous meetings, which I appreciate. She likes to bring in different tools or activities for her clients to use during therapy session and is very responsive to feedback I would give. Overall, I really enjoyed working with her!
