About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and I have worked in a variety of different contexts. I have experience working with chemical dependency, codependency, eating disorders, mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, I have worked with adults receiving clinical help as well as adults working on legal issues. I have worked with stress management and learning to live your best life.

I work to build trusting relationships with my clients, and through that trust and the journey of your experiences as well as my expertise, our teamwork can help create positive outcomes. I am a strong believer that most change happens outside of the therapy room (or chatroom in this case), thus I tend to provide a combination of weekly sessions or messages along with an occasional personal experiment. I take those experiments seriously and will hold clients accountable to them when working with me, thus in some sense I can act as a coach! I use a mix of a few different styles, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and solutions focused being the foundation of my work. Solutions don't happen over night, but they do happen with hard work. Solutions also happen when the client is in charge. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and while a therapist serves in a highly supportive role, no one has reign over what's right for you except you. So let's find what that is together!

I am available for live sessions and messaging on weekends only, however for new clients I provide more attention initially the first couple of weeks to help you with the flow of therapy and to really discover if we're a good match. I am available for phone, chat and video sessions, in 30 minute or hour long sessions. I ask that you let me know through messaging when you schedule if you'd like an hour long session so I can ensure that time is blocked out, otherwise someone may schedule during that 30 minute block of time, leaving you with only 30 minutes. Cecilia has been a life saver for me! When I started talking to her I couldn't get through 15 minutes without crying over my situation. She was able to give me positive, USEFUL feedback while making me feel like what I was going through was normal and surpass-able. I'm in a MUCH better place thanks to her understanding and perceptiveness. I would recommend her to anyone!

For the short while I've been under her care. I would say she reviews anything that I submit and gives me thoughtful insight or asks for me to bring more details about points that could possibly be a source. She's help me further strengthen the bond of my support group and allowed me to break some barriers I unwillingly made. It may take time however, working with her I believe we can find the underlying cause and allow me to break free from my chains.

My first time getting counselling has been a great experience with Cecilia Clowdus. I recommend her 100% she really has a way of making you feel comfortable. I never felt like I was talking to a 'stranger' it felt more like I was talking to a friend. Cecilia really takes her time and brings great points to our conversations. She always knows what to say and how to say it.
