About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Tennessee with 13 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, grief, trauma and abuse as well as other issues that contribute to mental health. Much of my training and work experience has been with trauma informed, attachment and emotion regulation models. I am CAIP certified which means I maintain yearly trainings for anxiety-based methods and modalities like Cognitive Processing, EMDR, Emotion Focused Individual Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy and others.

I am an experienced individual, couples and family therapist and am trained and licensed for several modalities that help them with communication, interpersonal and intimacy skills. I have experience with groups and am a licensed DBT, Mindfulness, Cognitive Processing/STAIR, PAIRS and Trauma therapist with many years of experience also working with substance dependence. I also have specialized experience working with clients who are on the Autism Spectrum and am a trained ABA, EDSM, and interpersonal connections therapist for this population. I have worked with military and Veteran populations for eight years as well.

I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

Charissa is outstanding. She allows me to be autonomous and truly educates and guides me through my journey each session. She consistently follows through with sending resources throughout the week and checks in when needed. I have grown substantially from having Charissa as my therapist.
