About me

I am a clinical social worker with over 30 years of clinical experience. From this experience, the following is what I have learned from working with people. Many people are stuck. They cannot make decisions that do not help them move forward. This situation is like a bad Groundhog Day movie. Ineffective decision-making creates a sense of being stuck and related futility. My dedication is to help individuals to develop a practice of efficient decision-making. I work collaboratively with individuals in strengthening their ability to form decisions that increase life's happiness.

Ive only had two sessions with Dr. Lewis but I’ve already learned so much about emotions and myself and different ways to understand myself in comparison with the numerous therapists Ive had in the past. I had my doubts about BetterHelp but I feel Ive gotten really lucky with my therapist.

Dr. Charles Lewis! You have an extremely kind and nice way about you. Your wise, rich, and positive perspective was so helpful to me for exploring my situation. You helped me reach into my confidence and gave me the space to go be myself for a while and see what I found with optimism. I am really excited to catch up with you and tell you what I have been up to.

Finding the right therapist can be a journey, but I am so glad to have found Dr. Lewis. I was really concerned about feeling comfortable enough to open up, but his kind, patient, calm demeanor has made me feel safe and heard. He’s gentle with his approach and will guide you in the right direction, but he also isn’t afraid to tell it like it is (and sometimes we all need that!). I genuinely look forward to each session with Dr. Lewis and am so grateful for the progress we’ve made and continue to make.

Dr. Lewis doesn't do your homework for you but he is a skilled tutor. It was easier to process my feelings after they have been assisted into the appropriate piles, validated and or discarded. Similar to trying to assemble a puzzle with pieces
