About me

We all need someone to talk to at times. Someone who can help us gain insight and a new perspective on things. Someone who will listen without judgement, who can provide the help and support to get things back on track so we can enjoy life and our relationships again. I believe every person is unique and as such they deserve a service that is tailored to their unique needs and situation. I work from an Integrative approach which means I can adapt and use a wide range of therapeutic approaches to help you achieve your goals. I will provide the time and space to feel comfortable with the process without feeling judged as we work together to help you adapt and cope better with the stresses that life tends to throw at us. I provide a warm and friendly professional service, working with you-for you.

Over the past 12 years I have found myself in the privileged position to be able to help my clients work towards dealing with a wide range of issues and supported them as they work towards a better quality of life. As a former nurse in the NHS, I understand the challenges physical health has upon the emotional and psychological wellbeing of not only the individual, but also on their relationships with partners, their children and the whole family. I have been able to utilise my years of experience and knowledge of health-related issues to be able to provide psychological and emotional support clients who are living with acute and chronic health conditions. This includes conditions such as recovering from major surgery, cancer treatment, CFS and MS, Chronic Pain and more recently, those suffering from Long Covid.

Charlotte has been instrumental in helping me keep my life together. She’s patient and understanding and has given me plenty of techniques to keep me moving forward in a productive way.

She immediately put me at ease and has really helped me through some difficult times. Her advice helps me daily and genuinely dread to think where I would be without her. Thank you Charlotte for being awesome!

Charlotte Hughes is a brilliant therapist. I can't even put into words how much she's already helped me. Not only has her advice helped me process difficult feelings and experiences, but she has also given me so much practical advice about handling situations in everyday life. I have benefited immensely from my time with her and think she is doing an amazing job. It also helps that she has a great sense of humor at the right moments.

Charlotte had a way to make me feel so comfortable in the first few minutes of speaking to her. This was great as it was my first ever therapy session.
Highly recommend.
